Been Tried, been failed, can't be perfected. Sorry but if you see the massive size of the map it is likely impossible to recreate. You have to create your own terrain and bases and by then you will be over budget. Just trying to warn you before you get disappointed.
The only way i know of to make this map is to select a closely terrained area in the dunes of sandbox, build a surrounding wall, and eliminate the banshee since you can't enclose it. I have already considered tackling such a task but i don't really want to do it at the moment. Anyway if you do decide to make it i'll be glad to help test since it would be awesome if you got even close to accurate.
It pretty much can't be done in Sandbox. What you could do is tweak the weapons/vehicles, etc. of Valhalla (or maybe even Standoff?) to make it kinda like blood gulch.
I could do it because the base are easy to do it it just the cave and maybe tha canyon so plese be positive and help me !
Dont waste your time. Seriously the map is huge and blablablabla you have heard it from everyone else. If you really think you can go for it but I wouldn't.
Blood gulch is possible, so don;t listen to these guys. It's just that it would be worthless cause the map has no good gameplay what so ever.
I'm willing to bet that they are over a million people, probably more, who disagree with you on that one but you're entitled to an opinion. An exact remake is impossible obviously but I think with some good planning along with alot of time and effort a pretty decent loose remake could be made with the use of geo-merging. I may attempt it at some point in the future but it would have to be a solo forge as I would want to work at my own pace. Good luck with it.
I'm not saying people don't like the map. I'm saying that there is nothing in it that plays well. #1 thing is there are no line of sight blocks and to add to that there are snipers. Look at stand off, there is even more line of sight blocks, less space to cover from 1 side to the other and it still cannot suport snipers or even just that great of game play in general. Can you name anything that plays well in it? You would have to change a LOT to make it work well for gameplay. Though a basic remake would be cool with tweeks to make it play well. @recon speler If you change the map to some extent, but keep the base and main structure of the map I'd be willing to help out at least to throw ideas all over the place for you. I will guide you through each step of improving it too, if yo'd like.
Just want to point out (really don't mean to advertise) that I've created a somewhat decent Blood Gulch map (Bloody Riviera). Its not up to scale, but there is one decent area in the dunes the resembles the layout of Blood Gulch. However, if you have a budget glitched map and use host merging, you could go alot farther than I did.
1. The big hill on the left of the picture was the site of endless pistol battles, its next to the TP so a constant stream of people could attack a camper on the top of the hill. 2. Hog battles - there was fuel rod (on halo 1 pc which I played) and a rocket launcher for players on foot an two hogs on either teams for epic hogs battles across the map. 3. The teleporters introduced a nice element to the map, another route to take. 4. CTF on blood gulch was a gametype which me and millions of other players loved, the map was perfectly engineered for it. 5. The hills on the map were perfectly placed for a balance of cover and openness, teams had to move up the map together. 6. Just because it is a generally open map doesn't me it cant support snipers, you just have to alter your gameplay and be careful. There was a reason I played games of team snipers where kills went up into the 100's, it was good.. I could go on.. the reason so many people liked blood gulch is due to the fact it played so well.
Shows how much you know about map flow and line of sights. I'm just being realistic here dude. Your opinon would matter but I'm not stating any of this out of opinion. it's all gameplay flow and how **** works.
yeah, but coagulation worked well on H2, it was so much better and it looked so much cooler. however, for making the map, isuggest shrinking the size down, and make it max 10 players, because then it'd be easier to do, and you'd still have all those epic battles.
no offense dude, how many maps have you proposed already? On other note: Do what Bloody Riviera did. Do it outside of the map. Just block the guardians.
If you're going to remake this map, it is going to have to be a mini version like Smallhala. Just don't rush it, and I would like to see this map when it is out. Not a bad idea, but a full scale version is literally impossible.
Blood Gulch was, and continues to be, one of the most ingenious maps Bungie have ever made. The whole idea behind it was that the map was so massive. You couldn't snipe people from one base to the other because it was so far away. And even with the incredible versatility and strength of the pistol, you could often see enemies on your screen but you wouldn't be able to attack them yet due to their distance. Plus, snipers are on long spawn intervals. Blood Gulch required careful map control and strategy for objective games.
