The only problem with your argument is the fact that the vast majority of xbox live players are screamers or assholes. It's completely valid to try to escape from those people with party chat. so in the end, I probably will just end up muting everyone as soon as I enter a game. thats a lose-lose situation.

No his argument is not flawed. The problem is (from what you are saying) that you have little tolerance for people. This is a flaw in YOUR social skills, not a problem with the game.

What's wrong with trying to avoid conversations about how much of a homosexual someone is for being second prestige? Or better yet, not even a conversation..but two 13 year olds going "Your Mom" "Your Mom" "Your Mom" over and over again. There's a whole level of difference between tolerance for people and tolerance for annoying voices coming through a headset.

On the subject of the party chat itself, I only wanna hear Shad0w, Tz, sweeny, raynne, Roche (when his mic actually works). Theres no reason for anyone else to listen to our conversation which half the time isn't even related to MW2. CoD for me was always that chill game I paid little attention to. I relaxed, played some CoD and chatted.

Not to mention, it ruined that whole "Game with your friends" aspect in which someone could play bioshock, halo, CoD4 and Mass Effect and all talk to each other, which was a lot of the time something I liked to do.

I am completely against the restriction. I used to love how I could get on live and talk to my friends regardless of what games they were playing, and that I had the option to go to game chat if I wanted.

But the restriction is stupid. It doesn't make the game more tactical at all. Every time I am in a game lobby, there is at least one screaming idiot five year old who won't shut up no matter how nicely you ask. So you mute him. And then you get the teams of four plus who think each other are the funniest things in the world, and you cannot hear yourself talking to your friends over their constant attempt at jokes/declaring how awesome they are. So you mute them.

And although it's not that big of an issue for me, there are certain topics that people talk about with their friends over live that they do not want random strangers hearing. Party chat helped filter who you wanted to talk to.

For me, it's gotten to the point where I just mute everybody except my friends the second I join a lobby. I don't even bother giving the annoying person a chance to reveal himself. The Party Chat restriction has done nothing to make the game more tactical, all it is doing is increasing the number of people the average live user has muted.

I agree with Ogre, I mute everyone except my friends from the second I join a Lobby or game. The party restrictions make the Party useless and take the whole point away from even having the XBL Party. It's stupid, I don't agree with it.

Umm just play FFA, Gound War etc. And if you dont want too play those, well your gonna have to deal with it. I personally dont mind it at all. Everyone i play with when im online has this game, so it doesnt bother me at all. And you dont have to be "pro" or mlg to just want to use teamwork to win a match.

Not enough people try to get an advantage with party chat to make it worth it...

Just about every match of CoD4 SnD, every match I played had party chat teams. Every match. It wasn't a case of some people doing it either. At the start of a few matches, the players would actually say to party up. So yeah, you're right. If by a 'few' you mean the majority.

The restriction isn't bad and there are still game types like Mercenary TD, Ground War, and 3rd Person Team Tactical where you can be in an Xbox LIVE party. I usually play MTD just cuz I don't wanna listen to loud noobs.

I 100% approve for games such as SnD where your position is everything. It gets hella annoying when someone is 'spying' from your team.

You can still use private chat which is good to me, as i only really bother with a small number of people on XBL.

It's annoying at times, but when we have more than 6 people we play ground war anyway so it's not that big of a deal.

I don't really care for the restrictions at all. If I want to play something that doesn't allow party chat, I just turn my mic all the way down or go into a private chat with someone. It's not that bad, but I agree that it should be removed from some things that it really isn't necessary in. I think search is really the only thing restrictions should be on, tbh.

It changes based on the playlist.

On 3rd person team tactical, it's ****ing brilliant.

    On ground war....
    Not so much.

Love groundwar and have for three games. The only problem is my schools internet sucks so going into less stable games with an active party is hard. I'm fine if I'm alone though.
