I plan to start a new website with V-Bulletin.
    Some Normal Gamers

    Here are the details.
SNG will be a hub for all PC, Console, and Portable gamers. The forums will range from Xbox to N64, CellPhone to Facebook, PS1 to AlienWare. The site will have boards. There will be a Community Board, Microsoft Board, Sony Board, Nintendo Board, PC Board, and Other Gaming Board. They will have categories for each one with sub forums in some of those. For example; the Microsoft Board will have a Games forum with Sub forums Categorizing them, a trouble shooting forum, and others in it.

I have more information saved on my computer.

Here is what I need to find.
I need to have 5 total Adminisstrators. Each Familiar with V-Bulletin Coding. Each one must know about a Gaming Format.
Example: one of the Admin is familar with Sony and Computer Gaming. They killed two birds with one stone.

    I need,
    1. Administrator that are Familiar with CSS and HTML. They must also know how to make Templates and be familair with atleast one gaming style.
    2. Moderators, Journalists, and Event Staff; they will be coming in to play later in the sites progression.
    3. Members who will actually use the forum.

Anyone who thinks this will work, or wants to help let me know by replying here.

PS-I have enough for VB and webhosting needs.

It's a nice idea, but understanding the amount of work it requires is important. Besides the fact that starting a site with such a hugely diverse focus makes it nearly impossible to start well unless you are part of a webring. Good luck, though.

I wouldn't really rely on friends if you're going for a professional stance (IE. ForgeHub standards), because you'll get personal chat and such, though friends could be a decent start-off point depending. If you're going for a more laid back forum, it could work quite well. You've thought it out better than most, but the scope seems kind of ridiculously huge to start with. It's worked before, but it's extremely tough.

I'd also recommend on hiring staff: a) don't hire friends unless they have an unparalleled knowledge far above anyone else b) be extremely selective, and make sure they can handle the time and actually know a ton instead of just people that look alright. You also won't need all your admins to be able to code, and you won't need 5 admins to start out with (5 is pretty huge IMO), though you could give Mods admin access while you're getting set up, personally I think you're better off with a smaller web team who will then get moved to normal members or mods depending on what they can handle.

I know what your saying. I meant five Admins very far in if it ever happened. I would be one. I need a coder to start, someone with expereince. I also meant friends for the members base.
Staff, I need to find a Sony gaming site like FH. Browse there staff and such.
Who here does the actual Coding for the templates and such?

I will be a moderator, if you still need one by then. I'm excited. I usually jump to and fro certain forums, FH is the only one I visit frequently so I hope to add another Frequent Visitor to my list.

Thanks for the help and offers.
I will give you the link when I start it up for the first time.

I would say it's harder. ForgeHub is the main place for people to go for Forge, but trusting a site to allover diluted gaming discussion over already established places like IGN is tough. Far harder to get the same amount, and even harder to get started in many areas because anywhere you focus won't get anything else.

Lionheart is the server owner and does our coding, and I'm sure he could do yours if you have a few hundred dollars or so. He does this professionally, so it's not cheap obviously.

From my limited experience with websites, you need something that's specific, appealing, and unique. Once you have this, you need a group of people to start everything rolling. You also need to update constantly... be prepared to lose 2-4 hours of your day just to updating... unless you have someone else that's willing to do it... Otherwise, good luck.

That's all I know.. hope ya make it!

Good luck on the site, I already got that PM you sent me and I'll be willing to help you. I just started HTML like 5 minutes ago, so don't expect me to be much help with the coding parts :p
