I need help before i literally kill myself!! Why cant i merge underwater? Or even in water????? For some reason, when im ghost merging, it sometimes works.. and most of the time doesnt? Are there any effective ways of merging underwater, without having to do hold, save changes, exit, spawn at start no, line up, hold, save changes, exit its taking me hours to merge two boxes together!!!!!
I recommend you give ghost merging another shot. I've made an entire map submerged in water with ghost merging an never ran into any problems.
Still am, did you completely submerge the items underwater? because if i submerge anymore than half of the container, it vanishes. which kinda sucks cause i want to make a flooded section of the map...
Ah i see what you're saying. In that case, I suggest that you use the large doors for the floor instead of double boxes. They probably won't vanish as weasily
Boxes on Longshore tend to be stupid while on water. As GunnerGrunt said, just use doors or any other flat immovable object as your main floor. I actually think I saw Grunt's map, very well done chap! I have always wanted to make a water based map on Longshore as well, I wish you luck and hope it turns out ok.
Yeah, double boxes vanish when they are placed under water, just save and quit them. It takes a bit more effort, but is definately worth it in the end.
aye.. i think ive found what causes it... Alot like when gm normally, you cant merge more than half the item into anything. In water, nothing prevents you from going over half way, so when you do, it disappears. It happens with the doors aswell.. Not to mention, they earthquake badly aswell
Geomerge and save and quit like used man says. Just hold it where you want it to be, then save and quit. Right now I am working on map, Bubblez if you haven't heard of it, and the boxes that make up the floor are completely underwater. And I can't think of any other way. Maybe overloading the map? Probably won't work though. Your just going to have to keep on doing it with a controller in one hand and a phone dialing the suicide hot line in the other. It shouldn't take you two hours even using that annoying method. Normally 5 minutes.
it took so long because i kept deleting what id done because it wasnt perfect, and with the constant save quiting, kept causing "earthquakes" and what previously was perfectly constructed, now wasnt...
