Never heard of either man , and I know alot of comedians lol.Possibly link some videos or some sources that we can work off of.
I haven't heard of George Carlin but seriously love Richard Pryor, hes one of my favourite comedians so I can't see myself liking this Carlin guy more but for the sake of this debate I'll check him out. Heres a section of what I think was Pryor's best set and one of the best sets in history because he also talked about personal stuff (his coke addiction) and he does this in a very endearing, deceptively profound yet funny way. One of the best comedians imo. YouTube- Richard Pryor - Sunset Strip Part 1
This debate breaks the rules, so I foresee it being closed soon... but here's an example of George Carlin (Clearly better): YouTube- George Carlin - Religion is bullshit.
Seems like they have similar styles but I think that Pryor is much funnier, guess it just comes down to personal taste.
Well its not just about who's funnier,if you know these two comedians then you will understand that they were also philosphers which is whats so great about them.Richard pryor with his thoughts about rascism, sex and drugs and george carlin and politics and religion.I personally like George Carlin better. And i dont understand why this Thread breaks the rules???
Did Richard Pryor ever have one of his standup acts disputed right up to the Supreme Court? George Carlin did. If this is just about making people laugh, Carlin and Pryor are roughly equal. If we're including ideas and cultural impact, Carlin's got Pryor beat by miles, for the Seven Words and many other acts he's done. YouTube- George Carlin - Dirty Words (Part 1 of 3) Spoiler YouTube- George Carlin - Dirty Words (Part 2 of 3) YouTube- George Carlin - Dirty Words (Part 3 of 3) Not sure if that's the actual original act, but the seven words are immortal.
