Upon arriving the team fanned out across the Halo using USNC pelicans to explore the parts of Delta Halo that still contained atmospheric integrity. Deep in the arctic region the team discovered what became known as the Fire and Ice temples, appropriately named due to their opposing architecture. Carbon dating revealed that the temples predated the hypothesized construction of the Halo structures which led to mystery about the nature of their origin. In a classified report released to ONI the archeology team disclosed that based on the carbon dating they have reasonably concluded that these temples were amongst the first instances of Forerunners suspending buildings in the air using anti-gravity technology. Eyewitness Account Dr. Arthur Reginald - The pilot set us down on the arctic tundra as myself and two Marines, sent along with me to set up some sensor equipment and take base readings of the atmospheric composition and core samples of the ice. Gazing up at the temples I could only marvel at the technology that keeps them floating seamlessly suspended hundreds of feet in the air. As the biting cold began to get to me, I was contemplating going back into the pelican, and waiting for the Marines to finish drilling out the core sample but my curiosity about the temples overwhelmed the cold I was feeling. Walking around snapping pictures with my camera I wanted to get a better view so I walked up a small platform at the base of the temple and as I stood in the middle of the platform a green light flashed out of the ground and everything went dark for just an instant. If I had blinked I would have missed it, but I couldn’t miss the change in scenery around me. I looked around and realized quickly I had been teleported up to the temple, and as I stared out into the snowy mist I could see the other temple a distance away with its now activated blue orb hovering by some unseen force underneath the temple. Later I would find out underneath the temple I had visited was a similar red orb. Because of the red and blue orbs we decided to name the temples after the elemental properties Fire and Ice. I don't know, it looks good, but now your map joins the wave of dozens of other maps that looks just like this, so tell me..., why is yours better.
Mine was the orginal multi-base symmetrical cut off map. Also I use energy walls as light bridges like from Halo 1. Also the balance and gameplay are good because I tested it with a lot of people on all the gametypes. Overall its just a more professionally done map.
To tell you the truth, I want to see someone make a map variant in the place where there are two man cannons (in the middle of the map). That would be a great spot if someone had an idea. Possibly CTF map?
i have already done that, and heaps more are to follow, as for this map, Brute Captain is right, you may have tested it extensively but it still looks the same as almost every other map on avalanche so far... sorry
this is one of the few legendary maps i have seen that looks to be ok dont worry, bungie made it hard on us with the items
Although the map may be a bit cliche, that doesnt mean its not a blast to play. Im also sure no one spent the time to actually look at the awesome asthetics that the bases have. Here is my review: Structures The bases are incredibly amazing. I have never seen anything like these extreamly asthetic structures. They have a forerunner feel to it, and I love the fact that you made the energy door as a walking platform. That brought me back to the Halo CE days. The structures in the center of the playing field too, are well designed and have alot of thought into them. You even managed to put up ramps to give it a forerunner feel, yet again. Grade: 5/5 Gameplay First of all, the fact that this map supports all gametypes is great in itself. I love the epic battles on either of the bases. The sniper towers might be a bit overpowering, though, and the same with the Spartan Laser. Either way, every one weapon has a vulnerability too it. Vehicular Gameplay is good too. Finally, great weapon placements, and gave a great sense of balance. I did enjoy these 4 varients: CTF, Team Slayer, Assault, and King of the Hill. Grade: 4/5 Asthetics Amazing. Thats pretty much all I have to say. Great Forerunner feel, and nothing seems rushed and/or cluttered. Grade: 5/5 Final Grade: 5/5
I suppose your entitle to your opinion for whatever that's worth but you couldn't be more wrong about the map. If you have seen the maps that have been created for avalanche their are maybe 2 gems in the entire bunch, and I think this map is one of them because its of its superior construction and map design which creates amazing battles and epic stalemates.
I have to agree with Metazoid here. We just got done playing a 4v4 multi flag on this map and it was extreamly fun. I had a blast, and finished with 40 kills and 15 deaths.
