Welcome to he forums, I see you've been a member for almost two years but have barely posted. I was the same way. Feel free to ask all your forge related questions here.

Enough on that, let's talk about geomerging. Geomerging on Sandbox isn't much different than Foundry. First, you place your object where you want it to be merged. Next, brace your object by putting walls/teleporters(or any immovable object) on every surface/side except the one opposite of the derection your going to merge. This next step is the only one different from Foundry. Instead of placing doors upside down your going to simply interlock another object into the original(this works just like the door technique). Note: However much you interlock the two objects is how much it is going to be merged. Finally, once you've completed all of the above, pick up the object you want to merge, save and quit. Note: The faster you do this last step the cleaner the merge will be. I hope I've helped ou better understand Geomerging on Sandbox.

Seconded. Ghost merging is by far easier and less stressful. It will remove that uncertainty all forgers had when they were unsure whether all of their braces were set up properly, or whether the object would cooperate.
