Pardon me if this is in the wrong section, I'm new to the forums if you can't tell. :$ Recently I've been interested in forging more frequently than I used to. When Ghost Merging was discovered, I tried it out and liked it. But recently I've been having trouble with it and I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else yet or not. Currently I'm just making a fun map in the bottom part of Sandbox. I Ghost Merged an object partially into one of the walls. Afterwards I started a new round so I could change that Ghost Merged object's respawn time so I could merge another object into that one. When I did that everything went fine and they merged together. I changed the Ghost Merged object back to normal settings and changed the newly merged object's respawn time. When I started a new round something odd occurred. The object that I changed it's respawn rate was still there and I was unable to move it. After about a minute it finally disappeared but reappeared almost immediately after about 5 or so seconds. I thought nothing of it and started a new round to see what would happen. The same thing happened again, but I was luckily able to merge another object into the one that seemed glitched. When I changed this new objects respawn time and set the glitched object's time back to normal, the same thing happened to this new object when I started a new round. I'm completely confused of what is happening and why it's happening. I hadn't had problems with Ghost Merging or merging in general before. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem or not. But if so, I'm just curious of how to resolve this issue if it's even possible. Thanks in advance.
It sounds like you used an OLN object (an object that was from the original sandbox) The OLN objects return to the first location that it was at when the game started whenever you tell it to not spawn at the start. To fix this, just save the game and come back, that way when it returns to the spot it was first at when you started the game, it will be where you want it.
I think the post above mine best explains it, but you have to know that ghost merging is a fairly new technique that stills has many unknown things about it so more info will probably come out in the upcoming weeks.
Thank you for the advice Meta. I am using an original object from Sandbox like you had said and I did what you told me to do. But apparently it has not resolved my problem which is a tad frustrating to say the least. I'll try again what you said and see if it will actually work this time.
Another thing that might be happening is, if you push the vector point (blue tear drop) outside of the crypt wall, the game thinks that the object has been lost outside of the game and will delete the object. however if you hold the object then save and quit the save and quit will override the lost item and it will stay
If you use non OLN objects to ghostmerge, it could also erase this problem. If you look up Bl00d F1r3s Forge School on youtube for Ghost merging, it will tell all about ghost merging with non OLN objects. So you can geo merge almost any immovable object you want.
This is not a problem with ghost merging, at the start of rounds and games sometimes objects will spawn initially even if set to after start. Be sure your spawn time minimum is lowered, and try starting a new round again. These problems occur quite frequently in my experience.
