Hello there, This is Estmid, and i was here to project a map that i am building. It is up for critisism, but it is only the idea so far, no pictures are entitled as of yet. So my idea is this: A while ago, about a year or so, i created a fun little forge game called build your fort. It came to be when me and a few freinds were up late and goofing off in foundry. What happened was many explosions were placed in the center of foundry and i created a really crummy base that was to protect a freind of mine from the blast. It worked suprisingly well and so i made one and the same happened. We kept to do this and soon it became fun enough that we built a game on it, well me to be more honest. So to the game itself. Build Your Fort is a game in which there is a massive blast put in the center of foundry, there are pre-designated objects that float above the surface on 2 bridges. What each person is supposed to do, (there can be about 8 players, four teams of 2), is create a base that can stand up the the blast, save the forge game and play it in a slayer mode in custom games. Each base has about 5 objects that each group can use to protect themselves with. And that itself is the game in general, as you can tell however, this game required honor rules. The rules are as follow: 1) You may spawn as many of the pre-designated objects that you own as possible. 2) You may NOT put your object off of the bridge in any way shape or form. 3) Crossing bases in custom is allowed, killing as well if you risk it. 4) You are not allowed to camp it out far from the blast if you fall off 5) Any object you spawn cannot be changed, no infinite spawning! So thats the jist of it, i do beleive i will explain more soon, but i hope to get some appeal and comments about what you guys think about this. I should be making a re-make of the origional that will be foolproof, as i have made many in the past that turned out great. It never quite got to forgehub but i wish it to be as i think of it as my "signature map" so to speak. Thanks, -Estmid EDIT: a note: The objects pre-designated are all movable non solid objects, expect for a pair of doors in which they CANNOT be spawned. To make things more difficult, i considered putting explosives behind the base as well as above, which can be very challenging to make. Also, when you actually play the game people must be told of these rules, which means play with people who won't dooshout, so to speak. Oh yeah, and to start the explosion in custom there is a starter kit, in which there is a trip mine to prepare to get in your base.
The rules need to be changed if it's going to work. There can't be any immovable objects (except for maybe a few) because then you can just put up a few boxes and be perfectly safe. Also make it so there is a required distance from the blast. You could just have a bunch of objects already on the map and it is their job to use those objects to make the fort. Also make it so no objects can be spawned. In my opinion that would be better.
Right, i forgot to mention a very important rule, thanks for reminding me. We played by using only the objects listed from Dumpster and down, every object was fair game. But that got confusing, so i decided to use pre-designated objects, which are all movable. So yeah, don't worry about that, the only solid objects are doors which actually are difficult to use, yeah you die in them.
Sorry, but this is more of an impromptu thing done among friends because of the honor rules, and for fun rather than competition. People spawn in their bases and try to assault a designated base. I cannot really see this map working since making this a real competition would require too many unwieldly rules to work. I have also done this in teams before and it is fun, but the rules are basic: do not use up all the budget or more than half of one type of item (unless traded with the other team)
