I drew this one back when i was a freshman. Just pencil. (I had it set as my avatar for quite some time). EDIT: i'll start posting these in a single thread from now on
*gasp* He's ****-blocking you. That's what's happening. As for the the drawing, amazing. It seems like you love drawing. How long have you been drawing?
How long have i been drawing? That's always the question... But i have been drawing for forever. Always have been a fan of drawing. But i just recently took up painting!
Yes. Exactly. I'm keeping him from getting laid. But seriously, how long have you been drawing? EDIT: ah, I see the answer there. How's painting going for you? You should post some of it.
*wipes forehead* That was close. I had a feeling I was just owned when you said it was your first. I just started doing colored pencils lately myself. However, I barely drew in my past life. I got bored of it because of my nack for more complicated, fast paced hobbies. I only got interested in it when I discovered you could put emotions into it. Enough of me monolouging. Glad to see some traditional artwork in this area.
Spoiler ^This is my first attempt at oil paints^ Spoiler ^This is my first attempt with acrylics^ I'll post all these in a gallery once i upload more of my work to photobucket
Hot damn. That's just amazing. Did you have a picture for reference with these or is it all straight from your mind? If it's the latter I consider you a child prodegy.
hahah goodness! I used references for most of those yes. But I have been striving for originality lately. I drew this out of my head yesterday. I think i might be able to go off something like that and create something full scale This is also original (ignore the text lol). Done in pen: Spoiler My original stuff isn't as good of quality as my other work, but I'm working on it
Wow, I remembered that as your avatar back then. I didn't know it was a drawing! It's simply flawless dude. I love how it is extremely detailed. I would love to see more.
For this, I think i used a 2b and 3b pencil. I don't really use anything fancy, just a few of the standard led softness. I don't like charcoal though. It makes a mess! I plan on it! I'm currently uploading all my stuff to photobucket. Then i'm gonna post a gallery thread
Would you describe the way you draw, from contour to shading? I really would like to learn how to do that metallic look.
I used to draw all the time but I just sorta gave it up for other things. All of your art that you have posted so far is quite impressive and makes me want to start again. Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Well it would take a while to really describe how I draw. For this picture, I drew my contour lines very accurate, precise, and light. Then I worked from left to right (to avoid smudge). I would pick one section at a time and shade it to its final state (I usually skip the rough shading stage). When I shade, my pencil pressure has to be just right. I try to get most of the shading done with the pencil before I use a shading stick. Then I go over the edges of that section with a very sharp pencil eraser. That's about how i did that one. It was almost four years ago though. My drawing style has changed a bit since then, but it still has the same results I know the feeling lol. Do you have anything posted around here that I could check out?
