Alright, so one day I was playing some CTF on standoff. I grab the flag and my friend picks me up on a mongoose. The other team hops on a mongoose to try and stop us, And I end up beating them off the mongoose with the flag. So, this gave me the idea to make a JOUSTING MAP! But, the jousting alone wasn't going to have too much replayibility. I've already developed the spawn area for both teams, where they can go through one of four teleporters to go to one of four events (Yeah, it's a very casual map since spawn killing is VERY easy). Anyway, So that gave me one of my events. My other is a collosal battle with swords, probably with a VIP gametype to tag along with it. Mongooses and oversheilds spawn for each team after a while to represent the calvary. So, I need two more ideas. I'm thinking of archery for one, but I'm not quite sure how to design that competitively. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can design the archery? Or another gametype/idea. I'm hoping there will be 4 gametypes total. (Jousting-CTF, Battle-VIP, Archery-Slayer, ? - ?). Try to keep it medieval themed, thanks!
What about a 'Pick Your Poison' kind of thing? You have to hop into a teleporter where both leads to a kill ball, but there is a randomly spawned object blocking one, so walking through it is safe, and you can get a VIP destination point, or a territory. The other, leads to a killball. Or one of these: Spoiler I don't know if its medieval or not, but it would be really cool.
Hmm, I like the first idea. It'd probably be put in a bigger scheme, But I think it would work nicely. I'll put some thought into a territory kind of thing.
If it were me, I'd make it a 2v2 map where both teams drive past each other tryi g to no scope each other. A team consists of one driver and one shooter, they could take turns everytime they got a kill. The sniper rifle works good because it's long just like the jousting stick they used back then.
True, but a couple body shots could easily take them out too easy. For a sniper with any experience it would be too easy, the flags provide more of a challenge.
