Read propelly, he said its harder to kill someone who is equiped with a br when you are using an ar or smg. Thats what I read. OT (or mods will infract me for explaining a post -.-): Does the ar shoot at a faster FR than the turret?
To my knowlage, the turret has a faster rate of fire, comparable to a Hog's turret. What about Plasma Cannons? PC is to MGT as PR is to SMG?
That is true and that was my next point actually. The PC has a fire rate comparable to the PR & it could be classed as a power weapon.
Just tried the PC. With MLG settings it simply tears you apart. Could be a walking extermination machine...
have you noticed that all weapons in MLG are semi automatic. There is a reason for that. If you miss aim, you will miss the shot and its not as easy to correct (with a few exceptions).
The Carbine minus will be full auto. Although the AR, SMG, and Turrets just don't work with MLG settings. The would be comparable to rapid fire rockets.
Please, B3NW, don't add a turret to your 'perfect' MLG map. Turrets ARE broken in MLG, so don't put them in an MLG map. And draco, don't even start on AR vs BR. That has nothing to do with this thread. And Dimmest is correct, there are no fully automatic weapons in MLG. And there's a reason for that.
Ladnil pretty much hit the nail on the head imo. If you were trying to create an argument for the SMG or the AR you failed. If not, your reasoning is still illogical and irrelevant. Relevancy is why I will not go on about those two. In MLG, you begin with a BR. Why would you want to choose a less superior weapon? This also applies to a turret (if viewed as less superior). No, you are confusing "worse" with "takes more skill". As you say, a turret starts slowly and limits movement. For the first, how is that considered to need more skill? Should you tap RT as you would for a laser? That isn't skill, it's common sense. Limiting movement isn't much of a basis for skill either. Perhaps, you have to move more skillfully to compensate? Ok, let's it takes skill to do those things. However, the rapid fire reduces the necessary amount for skill. You shoot more bullets faster. Therefore you are not punished as much as missing a BR, Carbine, or Sniper shot. If you miss a BR shot in a BR battle, you will lose. Turrets do not have the same effect. As Insane said, a turret would slow down gameplay. That, imo, is the main reason for its exclusion.
Turret wont be in MLG, neither will the spiker, needler, SMG, AR, any equiptment, covenant sniper, or hammer. There are many, many reasons as to why they wont be added, but the main reason is that they all lessen the skill gap as most battles when both sides have these weapons end in a tie, or very near it. The covenant sniper wont be added simply because it cannot combine ammo like the human sniper. These discussions really do need to stop. They just turn into people talking out of their ass about things that they know nothing about. If you honestly think that a turret would play well for MLG then you either dont understand MLG at all or are just trolling. Simple as that.
And the AR you aim anywhere on the body, hold down the trigger, and then continue with a beat-down. That sounds like much more skill... ROFL
The hammer is actually allowed by MLG, as are most weapons, but most maps aren't able to contain them.
Unlike you, we can actually talk seriously about something, find its pros and cons and make an educated geuss. Who is Killa KC, unless he is the head of MLG map making then I dont care what he thinks.
He is the head of MLG map making. Actually. Well, close enough. He decides what maps will go into the circuit, and creates the gametypes. You should really do your research on MLG...especially if you're trying to make "the perfect MLG map".
Thats why I said if he isnt the head of MLG map making I didnt care, I was conservative incase he was. Plus this is a discussion, not "IF THIS GUY SAYS THIS IT MAKES IT TRUE!". Just for your information insane, from what I know this is the first discussion about broken turrets in MLG, if not then im sorry ive never seen it before & FYI I have someone advising on the map for mlg terms of things, I am forging the map coming up with the basic layout and basic ideas, I have someone advising on those ideas and suggesting ideas himself and someone advising anything MLG for the map, but that really isnt your buisness, now could people stop bringing up "The perfect mlg map?" in this thread. No im not using broken turrets in it and no im not wasting my time researching broken turrets in MLG and the names of different people. Thanks
It does make it true, in MLG terms. If he says your map isn't up to MLG standards then it isn't. He is the ONLY authority on gametypes and maps. I'm not suggesting it's part of your map. I'm suggesting that you should know how MLG works instead of taking your impressions of what you've seen before trying to create a serious MLG map.

Not like any of US have every played more than FIFTY games of MLG! ...we've probably all played hundreds of games. I play MLG customs practically daily. You also can't just make a map design and slap "MLG STUFF" on it by putting all the same common spawns, items, and weapons.
