So, my TV I got less than a year ago has been acting up. The issues:

1 - Most important, doesn't display a channel. The channel is channel 2 on my TV incase that might matter, though I realize each station is different for people (thinking it might be the TV not displaying that channel because of number and not the station). I've checked with multiple atennas so it's not that I'm not receiving the channel.
2 - Awhile ago, my TV was displaying everything like it was ontop of a large magnet, the screen color was way off except for various parts. It was not near a magnet at all, infact, I didn't even do anything to fix it, it went away on its own. The sound was also not working when this happened (for some channels anyway).

So, what the hell is going on with it?

Might be interference from unshielded speakers next to the TV...?

well speakers are composed of magnets, and magnets seem to be the source of the color distortions, so i think the problem could be with your internal speakers (if you have them) but if you bought a warranty id suggest using it ;)

Sounds like a good explanation, explains my sound not working and my TV colour messing up. Only thing I need to find out now is why channel 2 won't work!

    lmfao, answer to everything

And yea, the speaker problem sounds about right, and is this SD/HD, Tube/Flat screen? what type of HD (LCD, PLASMA, DLP, etc.)

as for the channel, it sounds like ur not using Cable, im assuming you use antennae (something like dish network, or just plain bunny ears) and are you saying your tv has to be on Channel 2 for gaming purposes? or the actual channel (station, whatever, the stuff you watch in your free time, cable, tv you know) 2 isnt coming in?

It's pretty new, so no it doesn't need to be on channel 2 for gaming (I lost my UHF/VHF-AV Converter anyway). Yes, using an antenna BUT it works for every other TV in my house, just not mine. Non-HD Flat Screen

have you had a bad lightning storm lately? It sounds like what happened to my dad's TV when lightning hit really close to his house. The TV popped and then from then on it had funny symptoms.

whoever said Get a new one was probably hittin the nail on the head, especially if a warranty is out of the question.

No money, and no storm either. Now when I turn it on, I've noticed little spots on either side where the speakers are after long enough or if I turn them up loud enough.

That definitely sounds like magnetic interference from the speakers. I have a few things you should try though, First turn off the internal speakers if you can, you can usually do this through the TVs menu, or via some switch on the back. Once there off watch for the spots and other problems again, if they persist then its not the speakers, but if it stops id suggest getting some external speakers for it, you could use anything from 5.1 to a basic stereo system, and sometimes just another speaker wired to the back properly. Just a few ideas, tell me if they work :D
