starting points question

    Alright so ive been testing my entry to the hub of the dead contest and the starting points arent working the way i hoped.
    For my map there are two sides and i want all of the humans to be seperate from each other(half start on one side the other half start on the opposite.) So what i did was i put 8 starting points on each side that were for defenders(humans). For every time ive tested all the humans spawn on the same side.
    Should i get rid of the starting points and put respawn points set to attackers? Other than that i dont really know how to fix it.

    is there a respawn area set to attackers on one side where the human starting points are? if not, i don't know, that is quite the odd problem though.

    No, one round they all spawned on one side and then the next they all spawned on the opposite side

    Make all respawn points on the map (except for a couple in case of suicides) set 'Attackers'. That way they only spawn at the Starting Points. The reason they all spawn on one side is because they Respawn Points act as Starting Points at the start of a round/match if they're near a Starting Point. So without the ability to spawn at the Respawn Point they're restricted to spawn on the Starting Points only. It might work, if it doesn't then I'm out of ideas.

    Hmm that might be it. Although i dont think so because none of them ever started on a respawn point. Or maybe they did, i dont know ill check when i can get on.

    Read this guide to advanced respawns first or nothing will make sense!

    Its because every charactor want to spawn at a starting spot when the game starts, and they also want to spawn as close to each other as possible. It would take me hours to explain it, and I only have a few minutes, and thats why I have to linky. Basically, place two defender starting spawns at each area with several respawn points set to defender. Then add two defender respawn areas that cover only the spawns for each side. The starting points have 1000 weight at the start of the game, the bases add 500 to all respawn points, and the respawn points gain 100 points for every human near them. Finally, add a spawn order to each of the respawn points, (a 1 one each side, a 2 on each side...) This will add another 500 to specific spawn points, causing it to spawn even. If you dont understand it pm me and I will see if I can get on long enough to help you.

    Thank you very much Death yoyo but i actullay did that last night and it worked! thanks for explaining how it worked though

    you never really need more than 1 starting point per team.. you should let your respawn areas do the spawning for you. As long as you have respawn points near the starting point the team will respawn there. They tend to use those spawn points as primary respawn points as well..
