Just thought id post some of the stuff i've been getting up to on here. Sadly i dont forge anymore having give it up for pursuit of more gloriours endervours. Im still map making however, and heres some my better works. This is an environment i quickly put together in one week. It is intended to be the scene i will use for my animation project for college. A high detail sci-fi environment i've been working on in my spare time over the summer. This is the clay render of the room without textures or proper lighting. I dont know how im ever going to finish this, this century. :S Also been having a little practice with photoshop for my concept art modual at college. This is a design i did for a slightly new halo 3 armour varient, hope you like And finally this is an eye i painted using photoshop. I followed a tutorial to paint this and i think it turned out pretty well.
Wow Val. Very impressive work. The first map is the best. It reminds me a lot of Halo: CE. The second is good aswell. It reminds me of Orbital.
Thanks alot. I know the eye looks cool but it was really easy seriously this tutorial, as long as you follow it step by step you cant go wrong. The spartan design though was all me. The sketch and paint over. I think i may have ago at modelling it, then painting over the render. Then it would look cool Ill post some of my other sketches up here and see what you think. An environment sketch i would like to model at some point. Two point perspective building Assault rifle design Some armour designs
Damn. you're amazing at that. Where'd you learn to do all that? You should apply for a job at Bungie lol. I bet they'd accept you.
Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, but it'll be 4 more years before i hit the industry. Kinda noobie at them moment
The first time I saw this thread, I didn't reply because I was so stunned. I'm even more stunned now but I can't not reply now. Val, you are an amazing artist and modeler. Become a Game Designer.
I sees someones work is halo inspired no? I could seriously see some of those concepts as halo maps! I really like that outdoors sketch as well. What programs do you use for the modeling?
Its in a PDF, may take a while to download but the two books are really cool you should work through both of them Link SRC48 thanks, the modelling was done using Lightwave 9.6 and photoshop. As soon as i've completed the environment that is just a clay render right now i intend to model the catwalk sketch. I cant wait to start on that one.
I really like the curved bridge design, it would make a great map the eye is also amazing, great work val
