X5 has got it right, but as of right now, it'd be safe to say that we're sticking with one zombie, so if you're making a map revolving around two its time to start over.
Well thats disappointing, i had a great map idea but i need the initial zombie count to be way more. Oh well hopefully ill find a solution. Great map contest idea, hopefully some great maps will be turning up
Well you could place humans in a container (no open walls) and say you need a 5 zombie start? Put four trapped humans (behind the scene) and the alpha zombie kills all 4 with grav hammer and bam! you have a 5 zombie start. It is not very conveint but it is possible.
Ya aaronator i was actually thinking about that. But the problem is the humans could still kill the zombie(because they have shotty) and the zombie only has a sword. So eventually, yes the zombie would get all of them. But by then it will have delayed all of the other humans gameplay so much that it would ruin my idea completley. I guess ill just have to deal with the 1 intial start
not neccesarely, bungie and forgehub are two completely different companies. if the winner makes it into matchmaking than that would be a seperate matter from this contest.
Well let me put my 2 cents in. This is a VERY good idea however late. Mine is an objective kind of set up. You could trap the human in a plae he can't get out of and the zombie can easily get him and/or he has to kill himself before he becomes a human happy meal. Suicides are annoying and really can hurt the game. Since there is nothing you can do about them killing themselves perhaps use only starting points and all the defender respawn points will be in a REALLY bad spot where they will become lunch in a heartbeat. That is a feature I will test out on my entry map Gray Water, (name may change AND yes GRAY WATER is a real thing!) Just thought I'd share an idea. Also as a question of my own, I'd like to know WHO will be playing our maps. A bunch of random noobs? Or people who will actually try to see the light when its at the end of a very long tunnel? AND do you read our forum links? I WAS going to put in an honer rule when I hit a wall today but found a solution. What If I hit another wall and would like an honer rule, something that won't affect the game settings but should just be followed for MORE fun? Also I have a MORE suggestions about how to help BOTH sides out because I feel daring enough to make an objective map. Pehaps knowing the objective and advice will be of value and you should veiw my forum link ehhhh? (I didn't make one yet but WILL).
I would assume the staff will be testing the maps. My question: Are there any more specific criteria you are judging the maps on other than Aesthetics and Enjoyment, or are you not releasing that info?
Staff and colored members will be testing, and the staff will make the ultimate decision. Our decision will be based on all aspects of the map, ranging from enjoyability to aesthetics to gameplay.
Well I'd like to participate if thats ok. Not for the testing part but just to play on these maps. I'm doing mine as an objective map built around the rules of save one bullet. When I submit this and put up the link will you veiw it so you can know what the objective is and other useful facts are about the map? I think I 've decided on the filters now.
Unfare advantage... If a map that has been submitted into Hub of the Dead is already a feature, it wouldn't be fair if that map won. Are going to exclude already featured maps when deciding the winners?
Maps cannot have been posted before the day of October 1st, so that generally means that all maps submitted are new maps, and thus haven't had a chance to be featured. I can say with certainty, none of the entrants thus far have been featured as of yet, nor will be before the end of the contest.
Ok never mind, I got mixed up with two different maps. I though The Hollow had been submitted here but then I realized it was a different map with simliar design that I had seen.
Being halloween in 2 days and an hour (here), when's the winners announced? I'm hosting an anxious halo party on the 30th, and we're sort hoping to be playing the winning map...
X5 said that they're hoping to get the winner announced by Hallows Eve. So that means they are trying hard to announce either on or a day before halloween basically. Its not determined as of yet, at least not to us. I am however very anxius to see when and who won.
I'm hosting a halloween halo party on the 30th at 4.00 PM EST, and we're hoping to be using the winning map of this contest... is this hopeful..? Or will it probably be announced at a later time..
