Hey everybody. If you don't know, I am the manager for a local band called Crown Trial. It's a group of 4 High school students that care deeply about their music. If you want to check us out just go to Crown Trial on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

Ok, well here's my problem. We want a good way to showcase our music, and it's uploaded on myspace, but everyone says that myspace is dead. Does anyone know a good, preferably cheap way to find some listeners and fans on the internet?

    Thanks.

Personally, you should make music just to make it. Not to get widely known and famous. That should just end up happening on it's own because of you making good music and being talented.

To answer your question legitimately, just spam the myspace page everywhere and do a lot of whoring.

If you haven't already, upload some videos to YouTube with some of their best songs.
Tell everyone at your school who appreciates their music to help promote them by sharing these videos with friends and family.

Also, create LOTS of demo CD's and give them away! You cannot expect to make money if no one knows you, and distributing FREE music is one of the best methods of becoming popular.

Can I recommend youtube videos. youtube is prospering and has been for a while now. Videos like Freddy have even been sponsored on popular TV shows. If people notice your music on youtube, and your subscribers increase, then you may become noticed.

But, as Scobra said, an art should never be practiced for the purpose of getting known. You should play your music because you enjoy it, and if you happen to be noticed then so be it.

For starters I'd get a new singer or pay for singing lessons for the one you have now, I'm trying not to be harsh but he would definately be under the 'bad auditions' on x-factor.

Aside from that, try and play as many gigs as you can and get yourself a fanbase, from there you can attempt to break the music industry.

    Myspace-Send Friend Requests to everyone.

Youtube-Put you video as a response to a new, popular song.

    Facebook-Status it up

    ForgeHub-Signature

RealLife-Use it as an icebreaker or a topic

Best way: Release your album for free through torrents. Upload it onto both Demonoid.com and The Pirate Bay. Demonoid may even feature you on their front page (when they come back up).

I can't believe no one knows about it but:

    Purevolume is your best shot.

PureVolume™ | We're Listening To You and anything like it. Sign up, upload your music, post it on places then go to their affiliates and do the same for any site like it.

Talk to radio stations nearby. Some of them, (Project961 in Georgia) will play new bands to help spread the word.
Flyers can help get out the message too.

Yeah if you want to be the annoying band on Myspace who just whores friend requests to everybody.

That's an awesome way to make fans who don't care about you.

    Myspace?

Just use Facebook or Twitter. Preferably Twitter, since that's the "new" Facebook and MySpace.
