Throwback 2.0 Created By SkyTune Constructed on: Foundry Compatible with: All default Bungie game types, but works best with Team Slayer, CTF, and Assault. Throwback 2.0 (hereafter referred to as simply Throwback) is a fast-paced, medium-sized, multi-level map. There are also one word adjectives, but they will not be used here. Throwback consists of two (closely) identical towers with a bridge complex connecting the two and cover on the ground level below. Weapons are distributed symmetrically throughout the map, and combat can erupt anywhere. The rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and shotgun are all positioned at the center of the map (though not on the same level) to provide an initial focal point for the fight. From there, fighting moves somewhat unpredictably around the map and depends largely on the skill level of the players. The map is quite easy to walk across in a short amount of time. However, do not make the mistake of thinking that it is easy to score in One Flag CTF or One Bomb Assault. The course can be walked quickly, but this becomes substantially harder with an enemy in the area. Also, any teams intending to simply steal the other team's flag by means of the central bridge will soon meet certain and swift death, especially considering that defense has a one-time rocket and turret at the beginning of an asymmetric game for the prevention of blitzkrieg victory. It is deceptively easy-looking to reach the other team's base, however it becomes much more difficult when there are actually enemies occupying said base. The teleporter at the top of the map exists just in case someone is clever enough to get past the giant wall I built. This has not yet been accomplished. The 2.0 exists because the 1.0 (created by me) was poorly constructed. It has been completely redone, and is a whole lot better for it. Feedback is greatly appreciated, especially video (File share link) of played games. Words of Advice: When guarding a tower, watch out for grenades. Most weapons are on the bottom two floors. It is not always better to be on top of the towers. Use the massive wall to distinguish which tower is which. Move as a group. Look up and down. The biggest threat to you is probably the one that's not on your level. Screenshots: The view of one tower from the top of the other. A different angle of a tower. A look from a corner. Looking down at the center of the map. A different look from the corner. The Rocket Launcher, FireBomb Grenades, Spikers, SMGs, Mauler, Brute Shot, Needler, Sniper Rifle, and Shotgun are all in the area covered by this view (They cannot be seen, as most are behind a box, on a bridge, in a box, or too far away to be visible). This may seem like overstocking the map with weapons bit, but you don't really have much time to find one before you run into a fight. Thank you for taking the time to actually read through that somewhat lengthy description (Even if you didn't). Please give Throwback a try! Feedback and (constructive) criticism are greatly appreciated! Download Throwback 2.0
Eeek! I hope people know that just by looking at screenshots. Looks okay. I'll DL and take a look. [edit] You need to start a Discuss Thread on Bungie.net for the DL link!!!! [edit]
If you think this is sloppy, you should have seen 1.0. Everything actually lines up in this version and the bases are symmetrical. There IS one crate that is definitely slightly tilted-the one fused with two parts of map geometry. Bridges simply are not long enough to span the gap the way I would like, and those small holes are actually quite walkable. The bridges are not just stacked, they are merged. Most of the imperfections stem from differences in the sides of the map. I realize that some parts aren't perfect. Please don't read an annoyed or angry tone into the text. I'm not at all insulted.
Strange, it reminds me of hang-em high but when I look at it, they both have two completely unique layouts. It must be the suspended bridges and rocket launcher. Cool map.
