    Secret Oasis Map Pack

Ok, A while back when sandbox had only just been released I decided to create a fountain in the crypt of sandbox, but up until about a month ago I had no idea what to do with it; I have decided to create a 3-part map pack that will throw the players into a fictional story based on events surrounding this fountain. Unlike most map packs these maps will be used to play parts of a story that will be built up around the fountain. The pack will consist of 3 maps:
    • The first set during the creation of the fountain and the township around it
    • The second set during the period when the town was prosperous and active
    • The third will be set in present times when the town has long since been abandoned but an archaeological expedition has arrived at the town.
To go along with these maps I am going to try and release a graphic comic, hopefully created solely by our artists and writers’ here on forge hub, this will be where the story of this expedition will be told and how they come to discover the township. (the comic will be shown in a blog, each map will have a link to this blog at the beginning of it's thread)
The maps themselves will be designed for competitive game styles and will all be of the same town but because the maps will be from different time periods they will all vary in game play/style
As I am not totally sure about how the size of the crypt may affect these maps may need to be re-built on the surface, this would only slightly edit the story of the maps and may also prove useful as structures can be built on the dunes, I need peoples opinions on this so please post them below.
Due to the scale of the project I will need help from not only a few forgers but also some skilled map designers as I am not great when it comes to the design of maps.
Before I embark on this project I need to know how the community will react to it as I will need a lot of help (especially with the comic creation as this will be the major part of the project) with this and it will not happen unless I know I can get that help so please leave your views on this below.

I would also like to add that this is the first draft of the fountain and it will be rebuilt for the maps, with some additions (hopefully from some peoples idea's)

Thanks for reading this wall of text and for commenting. Also as this has only just gone into development there is no banner for the pack, but don't worry there will be one once the pack is complete and ready for submission.

It sound like a great idea to me, and from the fountain it looks like you have the skills to pull something like this off.

But one question: why was a town built around a fountain? Wouldn't a town build one after it is already established? Maybe you could consider making it based on a river or a lake or something of that nature. Just a suggestion.

EDIT: As for the help, maybe I could help provide ideas if you need some, and help with the testing. I am not that great at forging or comics, but this looks like something I want to get involved with.

Well there is a reason a fountain for it being, its nothing major, but I just dont want to start revealing the plot of the story before its even been written, plus a fountain is much easier to build than a river.[/QUOTE]

Agreed, rivers and mountains are definitely harder to build and the fountain looks great. And that actually sounds pretty interesting, as I said I am looking forward to seeing more of this map pack.
