This is my stance. You can love (or have consensual sex with) whomever you want. However, there is a chance that resulting children will have deformities. Rusty mentioned the monarchs which is true. Many of these monarchs also mental illnesses. All in all, it's up the potential parents.
IMO, wincest is ****ing disgusting. I'm Not really against it, I just find it very ****ed up. The fact of two different family members having sex is just ****ing nasty. Imagine how a kid would feel if his aunt is his/her mother and his dad is his/her uncle. Sure the kid would grow up thinking its normal until he/she hit school and got other kids reactions. Kids are ****ing cruel. And its more than just that; how ****ed up some kids are born from it and have to go through . Tl;Dr: Its ****ed up, I feel bad if there's a kid.
For any of you Bible thumpers out there, how exactly did early man propagate?... There isn't much moral ground to stand on besides whether it disgusts you or not. It certainly is a health issue and any child would probably be deformed in some way. I see incest as a perversion of the family.
If you really loved each other, I guess it could be okay with protection as long as you didn't get caught.. But I know that it affects the gene pool and allowing new genes is the only way to have a healthy baby, so I think that maybe pleasuring a cousin or something if you loved her might be okay, (Not that I do) but not if you just want sexy time. I couldn't imagine anyone doing like, their mother, because that's just.. ****ed up. I don't know, it's a hard question.
I don't believe in the Bible and I still think its absolutely a perversion of the family and plain out wrong. Evolution makes it so incest doesn't happen well not naturally because a group of organisms evolved at similar rates and had a wide enough pool of mates so intertwining breeding would be kept to a minimal but yes the bible kids have to realize that if they believe in the story of Adam and Eve that they basically are saying incest is fine and ok. I personally will take my evolution side of the argument lol. I just don't see why anyone would do such a thing. Thankfully its not common and most people realize its not the way to go.
For all you hubbers who are viewing it as a moral delima, what about legal incest? By that I mean, someone who you are only related to through some form of marriage.
Well thats trough marriage still weird. The wrong one is the same blood having sex with the same blood. nasty. As for your cats Scope are they both indoor cats?Because it would make sense if they were. Cats are not naturally stuck in a small area like a house with no other mates. Similar things happen in prison because its un-natural. Anything starts looking better after being stuck with it for a long period lol.
Yeah Im against the inner family courtship not legal hoopla still weird though and I wouldn't go for it especially if I could get some girl not related to me lol.
I'm sure if there were other cats around besides the ones you own it wouldn't have chosen incest. And obviously icest is bad, it's just impossible to make an argument that it is good. Even if you say two family members love eachother, that doesn't give them the right to ruin their possible children's lives.
This is basically the only sound objection to incest as it stands, aside from that it's down to whether it disgusts you or not as rusty says. Subjective, emotional reaction, which is hardly a fair basis to define laws by, in fact I can't help but be put in mind of the revulsion which was the basis for laws against homosexuality. Much as law may claim the above as a legitimate reason to prohibit incest, I think it's pretty clear that entrenched social taboo is really what's at play here. I mean, what about couples who both have conditions such as Down's Syndrome, are they forbidden from having children for fear of the child's future with the highly increased likelihood of that same condition? Are they banned from even having sex just in case they have kids? I don't think so. And how far can you take this principle if you start it? Should poor families be banned from having children for fear they can't support them properly? Should parents in high crime areas be banned from having children for fear they may be subject to constant crime? You have to draw the line at some point, and wherever you think that line should be drawn, there's no question of the inequity between where the line is where incest is concerned, and where it is for everything else that basically has the same practical outcome. Now the fact is, I empathise with how people react to it. Hell, if one of my friends told me he was marrying his sister then there would be a part of me that thought 'man, that's weird dude'. But part of being a mature person and part of a tolerant society is sucking up **** like that, knowing that subjective emotional reactions to stuff aren't really worth anything in the real world, and if people aren't hurting anyone in what they're doing then your gut reaction to it doesn't really mean anything. What you should really be doing is thinking instead of being so reactionary to something alien, this being a key example of what not to do: Please, read my examples above of why this so called 'conclusive' argument against incest doesn't really stand up to much logic past that of 'I don't like it, it's icky'.
He's saying that their are obviously other cats roaming around, it wasn't out of lack of any other "resources" that the two cats choose to mate.
biologically family: no, it is not ok, and it creates a shallow gene pool with ****ed up kids. step-family: hellz yeah!!
Again, I agree, but the same or even greater likelihood of the same thing happening in other circumstances (parents with a condition who'll more than likely pass it on to any children) isn't treated in the same light either by the law or society at large. The only thing separating the two circumstances, and the resulting gulf in legislation, is social taboo.
