SOTW entry this week. It is based on the album art for the classic World War 2 documentary, Victory at Sea. I also tried to recreate Pigglez epic pop-out effect... I don't think it turned out well.

Also, the edges look far more transparent in Photoshop... I think something might be wrong with Photobucket, because this is the second time this week that transparency has not worked on Photobucket...

erm.. are you wondering about the effects and scanlines that are outside the main part?

Yeah, in PS they are masked so that there is only the faintest bit showing (even on a white background), but when I look at it here I see that the C4Ds and scanlines are fully exposed...

hmm interesting.. i would try simply selecting the area that you want to be transparent, and try erasing every layer that has the stuff in it?

just basic troubleshooting... just try to make sure that everything that you might have forgotten has been taken care of before we decide that it is a programming error :p

Ok, it appears to be fixed now...

I also took the opportunity to fix the over-contrasting and bad lighting in the original :)

yup there ya go! anyways, i like the scanlines.. they look pretty good.. the text isnt exactly my style.. that or it doesnt fit with the sig. the sig really does pop though, but i think for more depth you should blur the tail end of the plain slightly.

Good lighting, and it definitely feels like the plane is moving; good sense of action. However, I'd try to render the plane a bit better, it's not too great on the upper wing.

Is that better? I also blurred the wings a tad to draw more attention to the engine and propeller.
