Basically i was thinking of making a large floating base high above sandtraps surface and stocking it with sniper rifles and making 1 team spawn there, and the other spawn on the bottom. The objective is for the one team to sneak across the map and get to their heavy weapons supply to blow the snipers out of their tower. Multiple rounds so each team can try both sides. What do you think?
Its interesting... kinda sounds like my Halo 2 remake with heavy weapons at the destination to destroy the snipers.
Sounds interesting indeed. Have you ever tryed placing a turret upside down in the air and putting a box ontop of it. It makes it so that if some below has a spartan laser, they can destroy the turret and the box come crashing down. I think this could become a great map.

I think you could make it fun if you made some respawn points that weren't there at the start but came in at time intervals, if that's possible. Or possibly try it with the people at the top having Spartan Lasers instead of Sniper Rifles, as it takes more skill to use because of the charging time.
what if you make the team on the bottom start with a sentinel beam, that way they can shoot at them without dealing too much damage, and best of all, it makes their scope go back! It would make it harder for the snipers, and it could be teamwork for the ground people. One person to shoot the snipers, and watch another one's back

Hah, Mealon I heart you sarcasm. I'm not sure I like the idea of getting sniped repeatedly as I run across a desert. Maybe it's just me. I could take lasering, I suppose, but being sniped is the worst feeling in the world.
You could, like milla said, block off the center routes. Then try imagining old school hang em' high when you are trying to snipe someone across the map onthe ground while they are dodging by weaving in and out of the stumps. You could use this concept on the ground against the snipers... float cover so that instead of infiltrating a base and hiding behind one baricade at a time you would be hiding UNDERNEATH the cover and run from crate to crate to supply case or something. If you don't have enough things to gloat objects then make structures out of radio antenas and such... get creative. And also the shoot a sniper to throw them off their scope to count on team work would be a great idea. However I would suggest BRs rather than sentinel beam, then reduce weapon damage... and on the rockets there would be infinite custom power-ups to enable you to kill the snipers cuz they would increase weapon damage to whatever...
The weaving idea I like, however. Being sniped may be no fun, but Hang 'Em High was mad fun, and the adrenaline rush you got from diving through those pillars was second to none. What would you use for pillars, though?
You could float crates above people's heads... you could stack items to make archways... you could add bubble shields at certain points... like I said... get creative... I like to leave enough room in my advice for the map builder to make his/her own choices...
