Hi, I'm new to forging in a "has-never-forged-before-in-his-life-except-to-blow-up-the-elephant" sort of way and I thought that I should start by making a floating fortress Infection map variant. As you can see I thoroughly buggered that up because I ended up with a "land-based" fortress map variant made for Assault that I call "Deep Acre". Here's the map Oh and I also made a game variant for it The objective for the attackers is to fight your way through the fort until your reach the top to plant the bomb... and yes the elite indicates where the bomb should go. The only way I know (because I have made sure to prevent any other ways) is to go up the stairs, around the walls, through the teleporter and across the bridge to score. As the game progresses objects like barriers and turrets appear making sure that the battle "evolves" as time goes by. Its not just the defenders who benefit as the game goes on. As the battle evolves new vehicles, weapons and even ways into the base will become available to the attackers. The idea behind this map was to try and create an action packed 6v6 (at the absolute minimum) one bomb assault based map. Sure this could also be interesting with one flag CTF but I'm sure that after trying to crack this for, blowing a part of it up would be very rewarding in a good game. This map is also highly team oriented. No one has access to radar except the bomb carrier or the person who has the custom power up. This means that when you want to detect someone sneaking into the base or detect whether it is safe to sneak into the base a certain way then the team is going to have to communicate well with each other in order to win. There are plenty more elements to this map but for the time being you should probably find those few out for yourself. I hope you enjoy this map and game variant and if you have any ideas on how to improve the map or any constructive criticism it is more than welcome. Thank you and enjoy.
good job on your first map btw. it looks pretty cool but i see that there are a couple of wepons in one spot
Thanks, my map might not be a work of genius but It was a good way to kill an afternoon. But what did you mean by a couple of weapons in one spot?
