Ok so basically one person pays and one person still gets the content without paying as my friends described it so.. Hey guys let me introduce you to John and Robbie John invites Robbie over to his house and Robbie recovers his gamer profile on Johns hardrive. Robbie buys the new Halo maps while on Johns hardrive. Robbie goes home the next day and is presented with the option to download the maps again onto his hardrive since he's already payed for them but their just not on his hardrive. Meanwhile John still has the Halo map pack without paying and Robbie does with paying... Anyway thats how my friends described it, does this work? PS This is pure speculation, I think my friends are lying and wouldn't want to steal the maps as I am willing to pay for something bungie has spent lots of hard work on. Also would Jphn have to keep Robbies account on his hardrive?
No. Does not work. Don't even try, it's legally illegal. Okay, let me describe to you in detail. Robbie's Gamertag is linked to that specific content. So if you download the Halo 3 maps with one profile, only that one profile can activate and use those maps.
I do know for a fact that trick does work... I was sharing an Xbox with my roommate and had purchased song packs for Guitar Hero 2 & 3. When I finally got my own Xbox I was a little bummed out that I would have to purchase those song packs again. However.. I didn't have to purchase them again.. When you purchase stuff like song packs or any other download able content it saves to your account, All I had to do was retrieve my gamertag and check for purchases and I was able to re-download everything I had bought from Xbox Live, While my roommate still had all the stuff I had bought on his Xbox. So to answer your question.. Yea.. I guess it could work. But the real question is this: Is it worth all the trouble and time to save 10 bucks?
