    That still doesnt mean anything.
He could have been lying the entire time.
It's so easy to lie on Live.
Once, this kid thought me and my friends were sponsored by bungie.
    LOL

You obviously don't understand this concept. He knew he could not load this map because of his scratched disk. It just happened that the gametype was on a map he couldn't play, he knew that it would automatically skip, so he was joking around about having some cheat.

The failing to load/skipping a map is not something that just happens randomly, it only happens when someone in the party has a damaged disk and can never load the map, which in this case the map just skips to another one along with the gametype. It's a very common thing, and no, he did not have any hack, cheat, mod, or whatever.

Jason, he was just messing around with you, he doesn't actually have a cheat, it is just a problem with him loading a certain map because of a damaged disk.

Umm, read the other posts at least 3 people have stated the true cause of this, myself included. We do know what this is, and this topic doesn't need to be discussed anymore.

Standbying is a method of in-game cheating where if a player is host, they can push the standby button on their modem and make the game super laggy for the other players, and not for the host. In this case the host player can go around getting kills while everyone else is lagging around thinking that the game is glitchy. This is outright cheating and if you are caught doing this you will receive a ban from Bungie.

Dude, read the comments in the thread and you'll clearly see that this is not modding. Will someone please lock this thread?

SuperTrooper's answer, I was the first one to give you the right anser, his hard drive has a bad sector so it skipped the map, THIS HAPPENED TO ME so I would know, all you have to do to fix it is clear your hard dive cache. I gave you the answer a while ago and at that point this thread should have stopped...

Your sarcasm as well as this thread are not needed. There is nothing left to discuss, I know what the problem was, it happened to me, and I told you. Why do you want to continue this pointless thread, it needs to be locked now.

Yeah I know bout that, It happens to me.
His disc obviously doesn't work right.
Mine doesn't, so whenever I try custom games on Guardian, it says "player failed to load the content" and when it comes up in matchmaking, it automatically switches the map and gametype, its a massive pain.

    I miss playing on Guardian....
But Blackout comes out today, so screw guardian!

I'm thinking this happens when someone isn't able to load a certain map. Their disk may be scratched or smudged and the map may not work for them. When Halo 3's MM whatever realizes this, it swtiches the map and gametype so it doesn't have to boot the player.

To clear things up. I have read through the thread and there is no reason to lock this. Just because people are talking about something and an answer has been given it does not mean that the thread should be locked. This isnt customer service forum its gaming discussion.

So no this will not be locked and saying it is useless because there are some people arguing does not mean it should be locked. Its a discussion if you do not like it you do not have to be involved in the discussion.

There are more than two answers and there is no guarantee either of them are right, or wrong at that matter.

    So keep talking.
