I think i just came...oh wait, no yeah I did. I hope to Jesus you are right about the maps. For some reason the forerunner maps bugged the **** out of me. And all I wanted was more urban and covenant themed maps. And you said just that. I love you EDIT: ok i don't really love you, but you did make me quite happy
No, the reason people aren't talking about it is because we have seen a trailer that showed a planet and talking, thats it. We have nothing to draw thoughts from besides its halo.
Honestly, the reach beta looks like one of the most interesting parts of ODST, this is because I love the story of Reach and am dying to see what it looks like... If I can play this on release, i will look at that before anything else.
Personally, I like the AR. Though I will say that it definitely needs some changes. The AR should, if it remains the default starting weapon of choice, should have the power be toned down slightly, the range increased, and the area of fire be tightened up a bit. Either that, or they bring the Halo 3: ODST SMG and make that the default starting weapon (with increased range and a tighter area of fire when zoomed) and replace the current version of the SMG because of how underused it is. Thinking about it, it would work so much better. In the case of this, the Assault Rifle should be exactly how i stated above, but with the power toned up instead of down. Also, the Pistol should be replaced with the ODST Pistol, but mildly toned down with a slight range decrease. This way, the Battle Rifle is still used as the main weapon, but the Pistol could actually be given a good use as a mini-BR when found, or you could start with it and the SMG. It would be a far more useful combo than the current Assault Rifle/Pistol combo in Halo 3.
I can tell you right now from time stance that the BR will not exist in Reach, all the UNSC had in its arsenal was the Ar, the mini AR (which is close to what you described) the h1 pistol and h2 magnum and the smg. Oh and the spankr missles (rocket launcher ftw). And my deduction of more urban and covi maps is because of the book. Reach is a manufactoring world, so it would make sense to have more industrial maps. Likd ghost town but with the h2 remake tombstone feel too it. And to Zander i really really really pray and hope they do have a halo version of the farcry editor. I want to make my own terrain. But think of how cool incorperatin a terrain editor into forge would be.
You are wrong. Contact Harvest took place before Reach and the Battle Rifle was used in that time period. Also, in the books, they make mention of a prototype of the BR when the Spartans enter CASTLE base. Also, it's a military based world. The main areas of battle contained forest landscapes and small urban military camps, like cities (at least, that's how I remember it being described.) Not large super humongous cities populated by civilians. The only urban areas that you will be fighting in more than likely are shipyards, factories, and military outposts/bases.
Well yeah i never said it was going to be like New Mombasa, i know its a military ship yard. So the maps will be like all unsc factories and then of course the forest maps kinda like a Valhalla with more tree's and no forerunner stuff. And i thought the br in contact harvest was the test version that was one shot?
My mistake then. I'm not sure about the BR in Contact Harvest. All I know is that during Reach, there were Battle Rifle prototypes that were supposedly being used. At least, I am almost positive they were prototypes.
Thats true, even though I absolutely love the flame grenades, they should put them in matchmaking in Halo 3. They are in Halo 3: ODST a lot though, because the brutes drop them, and thats good.
Super soldier or not, we should has more armor customization, gun customization (aesthetics only) and a better Forge. And a Knife. Or Energy Axe. OR Skull as a selectable weapon in gametypes. (Play as UNSC, ODST, SPARTANS, BRUTES, ELITES plz.)
That might be overkill. If anything the mp will still be Spartans vs Elites. Brutes would be a nice add though.
UNSC Soldiers: Average everyday, non space faring (unless they have a ship) soldiers. Useful for support for Spartans, escort teams and defending Strongholds (unless being attack from space) ODST: Space Faring, super soldiers who have hardened personalities, trained to be better than Marines. Always used in Space Ops. SPARTAN-I (Sgt. Johnson): Stronger Marines, not all of them grow the same abilities as Johnson. That was from Borens Syndrome. SPARTAN-II: Ultra advanced, majorly auqmented Marines, trained for space and Ground Ops. Not many survive the augmentations, some become disabled. Shielded armor, withstands much more damage than any Marine. Brute: Much like Gorillas, save that they are millions of times stronger. Wear power armor, which has minor shielding, armor does fall off but skin is very resistant. Elite: Basically Alien Spartans which are taller and have different armor, but has shielding also. Grunts: Functions much like Marines, though much more cowardly and are Space Faring, however. Jackals: Ranged creatures, VERY weak in health and stamina. Very cowardly, usually hides and snipes. Why did I do that? If they had those classes, it would be a rock paper scissors. Choose Marine to be in a team of Marines, supporting your team. Use ODST's for stealth missions which come in pairs or triples. SPARTAN-I's could be leader Marines. SPARTAN-II's could be individual, being VERY powerful, able to take a ton of damage, and charge in to tackle the worst, while others support him(them). Brutes come in pairs, being weaker than SPARTANS in health, but much better with close range weapons. Elites come by themselves, just like the SPARTANS. Jackals are like ODST's. Grunts are like Marines. That would be a very fun gameplay, being like Halo Wars but from the soldiers POV. Hopefully, but probably not. That would be EXTREMELY fun, though.
