    HEY Forgers and Halo-lovers

    1) I know, this is an old thread.
    2) I stopped working on it because noone seemed to even look at it or write something, so why finish something noones interested.
    3) ONE guy added me and asked wheter it's finished and he likes the map so I wanted to finish it, even if only HE downloads it
    4) better push an old Thread from me than creating a new one with the same map...

    which is now finnaly called "Sandsation"

    NOTES & Explanations

    -There going to be "ROCKS" or in the map, just finishing the whole thing first and then going to add some rocks/hiding spots and so on.

    - The whole Structure is build in the air of skybox SO I can build the
    Rocket spawn under the battlefield
    -> you have to jump down so it's more like the original map


    Leap of Faith:
    I built a Grav Lift under the Wall.
    If you go ahead you'll be pushed into air and there I placed a mancannon.
    The mancannon pushes you ontop the whole Center.
    Usual you will land near the Middle of the Circle, so it's nearly like the original Lift in the H2 map.

    I don't think its the same size as the normal ascension, but its pretty close, and so far, it looks good, but it is a little early to tell.

    IT may be a LITTLE bit smaller but normally It is nearly the same size.
    I walked SO damn often in Halo 2 around while forging this map and made pics with my handy to get it more accurate.

    So far the angles are perfect, I looked at it in the H2 ascension and made me some notes and spots to knwo where I can start =)

    Well the length of each catwalk might be a bit different, but If it's too "failured" at the end I will do an makeover =)

    you will probobly run out of items in the end....but it looks good so far.....like all the other ones.

    I'm not feeling it. It feels like you shrunk down the level, along with that you should build it a LOT higher, so that you can have the lower rocket platform, which was a major thing on the map.

    If you try and make an exact remake you'll probably fail, but a reinspiration is a definite possibility.

    It's toooo small if you ask me. Halo 3 maps need to be bigger than H2 maps for them to work better (Same issues with Foundation, and people agree Assembly would work on h2) and this is smaller than the H2 equivalant.

    I know it's an awkward thing to say, but a pretty simple change (considering you have only done half of one side) would make this play muchh better. The whole thing should be about 1 and 1/2 the size of what it is now.

    Be careful you don't make it too ugly in an attempt to make it too much like the original. Just keep it clean and tidy, don't go throwing down objects just because they look correct. An example is the area the sniper rifle spawns (the ledge on the midpoint of the big ramp) which looks a but scruffy because its tricky to built the walls around the outside.

    Also if you throw in the 3 pillars in the center of the map your images will probably look imediately better to others.

    Jeah that's right, wasn't sure where exactly to place them in which angle
    but tomorrow I will add them first =) and about the ugly, jeah it looks a bit shitty at the snipes at the moment =)
    If im ready with the whole map I think I will do an makeover to make it look more pleasent to everyone =)
    btw, should I add light orbs? on some places?

    I don't think you should have lights at all, with how much money they take up, you could easily add more detail into the map. But, if you're 100% done with the map AND have $40 left I would put lights on.

    I wouldn't actually. I think they look ugly in every map and they are whored out. I'd keep it bleak like your doing. No filters either, these images look good.

    I just googled an overview (birds eye totally 90 ° xD) to the middle section and everything.

    I think I have to overwork the whole thing on the rocket spawn side (bigger), but thanks to ghost merging it's not too hard if you know exactly how to do it =)

    I hope you're working on a budget glitched canvas because I have my doubts of being able to fit all the elements of ascension on your map, even though you claim you can. Do you have a sketchup made of this?

    DON'T worry about the items, I use the BEST OLN map
    I will give you a link later on.
    You will always run into the budget problem before object limit, but i have tons of "cash" available.
    I'm never going to use an glitched map, maybe I want to post it in ATLAS-forum some day.
    Also I will add people if the want to help (when I need it), first I want to finish the map on my own, way too fun to build a remake.

    BUT FIRST I have to go to school for another 1 1/2 hours =P "global studies"
    It's a lesson completely held in english, I LOVE english man =)
    I'm thinking about moving someday to America =)
    Well let's look what's future coming up with, right? xD

    Wow, you got some really important people to comment here. That means that even though its negative, they think its worth commenting. I have never seen a true remake of this, only maps that look inspired. If you can do it, you got my download. Also, you should try to make the rocket area a bit bigger, looks like spam right now.

    I always work with a budget glitched canvas. Cause if you finish and you can get it under budget all you have to do is turn off the glitch and no one's the wiser. If you can't get it under budget you're not left with some 3/4 finished map.

    I hope you can finish it, but judging by the size decrease I think you'll be ok.
