Hello everyone, this is my virgin post in the GnA section. Anyway, what I need is someone to change an image to black and white. I'd do it myself, 'cept I don't have photoshop or any image editor with which to do it or the time to get it. The link to the image as well: http://www.breidt.net/scripts/pics/hochb.jpg It needs to look like an old photograph, if possible. I'm doing an assignment, and I need this done fast, please. 1-2 hours or less is preferable. Repost here with the image and I'll say yay or nay. After that, could a mod lock this?

Um yes, I personally use Photoshop CS4 Extended (which is marvelous) but its quite heavy on the system specs although my computer personally handles it well. You can obtain it illegally, but that's your choice and we're not allowed to discuss that. I recommend a program called "Gimp", its similar to Photoshop and its free, you can probably get all your basic image editing needs done with that. You should only get Photoshop if you're really into the art, I for one have a tablet and I draw everyday, even make backgrounds but that's a whole other story. tl;dr - get Gimp, its free and like photoshop
Sheesh, you people from other sections are requesting locks for ev-ah-ree-thing. Doesn't leave any room for discussion. As for programs, Photoship costs upward of $300 without edu. discounts. I would recommended The GIMP 2.7. It's really close to PS if you're going to be making sigs and things, and a great way to start.

Well you cant get THE program photoshop for free unless of course, you were a PIRATE... but there would be no way you could get away with it unless you escaped from the BAY... or use gimp
