I'm not sure if this has been made before, but me and my friends were talking and we came up with some good suggestions to bands and artists, that I think would actually make a good game. So here's my question to FH, what band or artist would you like to see a guitar hero game made on? A band who's songs are all different and well, would be awesome to play to! For me the most obvious artist who deserves a guitar hero game would be Bucket Head. Every single one of his songs are different, and they all involve challenging riffs and solos for guitar especially, but could also be challenging for bass and drums. Some other bands for me would be KISS and Green Day. I think all their songs are awesome and could have some fun gameplay if you have a full band. Anyway, I was wondering what bands/artists you guys thought deserve a Guitar Hero title, and what songs would be best for their game.
GH: Import your own music instead of paying more for what you already have, we didn't even make a real game we made and engine to convert songs to colors
This. Hit the nail on the head. Realistically (sort of)... GH: Techno. Idk, It'd be cool to see how songs would translate into guitar form. You couldn't do it with some out there techno stuff, but the more simple mainstream techno should work. 3oh!3, CobraStarship, etc. It would never happen, and I'm not sure if anyone would pick it up if it did, but I at least would enjoy it to a certain extent.
That could work really well, though I'd personally go for more of a DnB version than a Techno one. I've got this DnB remix of Over by Portishead which I've always thought would translate well to a live band with the right effects, but a GH game could be an interesting twist on that. I reckon that a good deal of DnB would work well in this kind of game, the drums would definitely be the challenging part of it though, that is unless the use of effects and layering within the, for want of a better word, melody could be integrated in to that player's role to make it more interesting.
A guitar hero for every decade from the '60s onward. And for the '80s, just remake it for every platform that has GH. Bands I'd like to see/see more of. Not necessarily a whole game for them though: Guns 'n' Roses Linkin Park Styx AC/DC Disturbed Green Day Hollywood Undead Journey My Chemical Romance Queen System of a Down Three Days Grace Van Halen
Here's an idea... Go buy a guitar, learn how to play it, and play any song you want on it. There, problem solved. I seriously never understood the point of Guitar Hero, it's like playing guitar without having to actually play guitar.
Guitar Hero: Hall of Fame A guitar Hero where all of the Bands/Artists with songs in the game have been inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame It would have stuff Like: Buddy Holly (I don't know any of his songs) Michael Jackson - Thriller, Smooth Criminal The Who - Baba 'o Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again Roy Orbison - Ooby Dooby, You Got It Metallica - Master of Puppets, Blackened THE BEATLES - Hey Jude, Here Comes the Sun Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock, Hunk 'o Burnin' Love Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire (I think he's in the RnRHOF?) And there Would be characters built to look like the Members of the Band Example: For all the Buddy Holly Songs, They would make a character that looks and moves like Buddy Holly, Same With MJ, The Who, Roy Orbison, Metallica, The Beatles, Elvis and Johnny. and whatever else they would put in... And they should add The Sex Pistols to the game as a joke
Guitar Hero: Wolfmother (they don't really have many songs released though). Guitar Hero: AC/DC Guitar Hero: RATM Guitar Hero: KISS Guitar Hero: Jimi Hendrix Guitar Hero: The White Stripes The list goes on.
The type of **** I like is in there, but wouldnt do so hot as a stand alone game. Some of my recent favorites to play on the guitar hero games: "Dez Moines" by The Devil Wears Prada "Demon" by Darkest Hour "Six" by All That Remains "Hole In the Earth" by Deftones "Disconnected" by In Flames and so on. Id like to see more like that, but I can completely understand why I dont. Its not for everyone.
Led Zepplin Stairway to Heavan Kashmir Black Dog Blck Mountian Side Good Times Bad Times Moby **** Whole Lotta Love Immagrant Song Misty Mountain Top Bullet for my Valentine Scream Aim Fire Tears Dont Fall Waking the Demon Eye of the Storm Hit the Floor The End Linkinpark Given Up Hands Held High No More Sorrow In the End One Step Closer Numb FAINT Breaking the Habbit
I really think a rolling stones rockband would have been better than the beattles... Guitar hero: Blackened to the Bone - Have heavy metal songs on it, rated M and have explicit lyrics. Guitar hero: Robotica - Have industrial music on it. Guitar hero: The Eagles, Guitar hero: Led Zeppelin, Guitar hero: Ozzy - any song that ozzy was part of. Although I am getting sick of single band guitar hero games, I feel these should have been the ones made.
iGuitar Hero. Hook your ipod to the guitar (or something) and upload all your songs into the game. /thread.
Guitar Hero: Beatles. Yes I know RB beatles. I don't like RB much though, dunno why. I'll give it a try in the next few days and maybe change my opinion. Guitar Hero: Classical. All the best hits from Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, and other classical artists, whose music was simply divine, and unearthly in their ability to project voice without words. Here's to the Classical! I bit of a problem for anything other than Guitar, but I suppose all I'd want is the guitar. Guitar playing different instruments that is. That would be quite lovely.
Realistically: -Guns N' Roses -AC/DC -Foo Fighters -Journey -Pink Floyd Personally: -Rise Against -Avenged Sevenfold -Atreyu I'd also truly love for there to be a GH:Indie. I would totally buy that, as Indie is better than almost all generic, popular music.
I almost Loved you for a second there. Did you know "Six" is on Guitar hero 2? And they also have Chiron, This Calling, (WTFRICKHOLYCRAPP'HFORBASSPEDALNOTESASECONDP'HFORTEHDRUMZ?) And Two Weeks on rock band, two bucks each, Go buy it.
Also, the argument that GH is pointless because you should just play a real guitar is 100% irrelevant. If people want to play a real instrument they will do it. You will never meet a right-minded person who believes that playing Guitar Hero well means they can naturally play the guitar. And, in comparison: Why do you play Call of Duty? Why don't you just buy a real gun and go to a shooting range, or play airsoft/paintball? Why do you play sports games? Why not just play the actual sport? Why do you play platforming games? Why not just free run? Why do you play puzzle games? Why not just do an actual puzzle or find some riddles? The point of Guitar Hero is the exact same of every other videogame ever created: a simulation.
Its also irrelevant because 60% of teenagers that play Guitar Hero or Rock Band are more likely to pick up and learn an instrument within the next year I started playing guitar hero at age 11 with GHII and look at me, Now i can play a very cheesy rendition of FunTwo's Canon Rock and The Guitar Riff to I'll be There by Jackson 5 Then i got into the drums on rock band a year after it came out... Now i have a four piece drum set with Ziljan cymbals and i can do Panic Attack by Dream Theater both in-game and in Reality
