Ok this is kinda hard to explain, but I'm looking to enclose my forge map completely (other than maybe a bit of foundry's wall) basically block off the ceiling. I've seen some good maps (like the pipes hosted here) that are closed in. My map is the left dividing of foundry not all the way back to the stairs. It's mainly one floor with a half second floor 2 stories high. Basically my question is..what is best for hallways, for walls and for ceilings?
Maybe change the name to "Need help enclosing a map" or something. I thought you were giving tips on the subject. Tbh tho i dont really know what you mean, your question is kind of vague. It depends on what size room your enclosing,if it leads to somewhere else etc. Frankly i'd suggest using mostly bridges and walls for ceiling. I find double boxes easier to place straight for walls anyway.
There.. Basically what I meant was what serves best as the walls, the ceiling, hallways (doubles, bridges or walls), and should I leave any foundry walls visable.
leaving foundry walls visable shouldnt be a problem, altho you have to be careful with some parts of foundry as there is that annoying slop that must be mapmerged so people cant jump out of map or get stuck. As for what works best i think walls and bridges make for better ceilings. they are easier to lay on top of a room as they're smallerand easier to see the ends.(if you get what i mean.since the double box is so bulky it can be tricky to line it up right with the corners of the "walls" of your room. However ive already said i find it easier to make straight walls out of double boxes because of how bulky they are.
