ForeFront: a medium to large symmetrical map in the middle level of Sandbox. The idea behind the map was to create an enclosed structure that was possible to go outside, but most of the action stayed inside the walls. Every surface in the level is playable, with no areas meant to be off limits or unreachable. A large part of the map has a height advantage, so all desirable weapons were place at ground level, requiring players to move between low and high ground constantly. Slayer is fun on ForeFront, but 2 flags and assault is where this map really shines. The paths from one base to another vary from the direct, obvious, and dangerous to the outside, safe and hidden. Every detail of this map was labored over, achieving great game play and replayability. Perfect for 4v4 or 5v5, this map is sure to stand the test of time.

First! Aimless Ant, I love your maps, and this may be the best since Lotus. Looks like a great team slayer and koth map. Presentation is top notch and layout is very original. Could use more interlocking, but nonetheless, dl'd.

Wow man this looks great, i love the layout. I'v always wanted to do something like this but never got around to it. The sunk fusion coils are genius, now one lucky nade can keep your enemies from a capture. Very nice you have my dl, but alas now i must delete another map.

Damn Ant, took you long enough to post this ;). I though this map was probably my favorite of the three I saw that time before, just because it looks and plays awesome, in my eyes at least. I'm amazed at the productivity and patience it must have taken you to create this. Lines of sight were varied very well, I really liked them well. Love the incorporation of the spiral staircases, 4 of them is just awesome! I also liked how you put in an anti-camp spot on the flag/bomb plant point, the fusion coils in the ground are deceitful, but an experienced player can use this to their advantage, as I've seen before. I liked how that you could use the grav lift in the back of the base to sneakily reach the top of the base and steal the flag successfully. I really liked how even though I could go out if I wanted to, the layout and weapon choice drove me into staying in the map because all the action was inside. Also the mongoose was probably for the best, the lasers gone, but I'm not sure about that grav lift, and the gravity hammer was pretty smart, hard to get, but when in the castle it rapes. Some problems I've had/see are that there's little cover on the sides on the second floor, either put some railings or nothing, not that big of a deal.

So overall this map is extremely well-planned and is executed really at it's highest level. I love the map and it's gameplay, you balance out everything. Good luck with this, and can't wait to see others.

Unfortunately, I never got to test this map. I can't say its one of your best works compared to some of the ther things you've posted, but it is one of the better competitive maps on FH right now. I have too ask though, the map would play very well with a Ghost. Why isn't there one? There looks like there is more than enough cover to support one, why not?

First: Cover on the second floor. As it is, the second floor has a height advantage over the ground floor, and one of the main things keeping that in check is the fact that there is no cover up there. Kinda like the top of the bases on the original Sandbox, you can stand up there and get some BR kills, but eventually someone will BR you enough to make you retreat.

Second: Ghosts. This map at first had warthogs. Too big, to awkward, didnt get many kills. Next it had ghosts. You couldnt use them to carry a flag, they didnt get as many kills as you would think, and it made the ground floor too hectic. A player on the ground floor had to worry about being shot from above and splattered from a ghost that could pop around the cronerany second. Ghosts were fun, but the Geese play better. It was a small concesion on my part for better gamepley (I love ghosts).

Third: Interlocking. This map was built to resemble a castle or a fortress type structure. The stacked block constuction was used intentionally to add to the overall feeling that this was a brink and mortar fortress. I have made some maps that were overly locked and had meh gameplay. This one is intentionally underlocked, and has fantastic gameplay. Please no more "needs more interlocking" comments.

Thanks for the feedback though, and i appreciate the help you guys have given me testing my many creations.

Wow! This map is created awesomely! I love how the map revolves around the structure but walking outside is also an option (very good for CTF and Oddball). I hope it supports all gametypes, because although it is a symmetric map, it looks good for FFA games, too. The only thing I don't think would work out is Infection, but oh well. Concept 9/10, Design 9.5/10, Crafting 9/10. Great job! Overall 9/10.

    Aimless, your awesome.

This has got to be one of my favorite forged maps. The forging is smooth, and you can tell how much time and effort went into the whole design of the map. The size and layout is perfect for 4v4's and 5v5's, slayer plays great, and this map is AMAZING for objective games. CTF and Assault on here were some of the most fun id had on halo.

This map is one of the best, and definitely deserves all the downloads.

I remember the most epic game of flags i ever played was on this map. I remember just as the other team was about to score its third capture, we held them back and recovered our flag about 3 inches from their capture point. I remember the Alamo..... Sorry got a little nostalgic there. I do miss the laser on this map. I think a little long range killin is always fun. Good luck with Atlas, I look forward to our next last stand.

HA! I remember that too, Tara. However, i also seem to remember, shortly thereafter I stole said flag once again, and smacked you in the face with it as i danced on your dead body. And we won.

By the way Ant, yellow text is a little hard for me to read on old school.

Damn I really like this map. I really REALLY like this map. I think this map would take BT very well and looks like CTF would pwn.
DL-ing and testing. I'll report back.

    Asthetics 10/10
    Playability /10

HLG? Where could you see someone hiding on this map? Its pretty much wide open, and the spots people hid on the tests (under the stairs) have been blocked with the lights.
