glitch discovered by death yoyo guide written by used man the new forge glitch could very well bring a revolution to forge. it allows perfect geomerges and interlocks with the OLN items of sandbox. unfortunately the glitch is very complicated, and hard to explain. so few people now how to accomplish it. this guide is meant to help. I will use double boxes as an example in this tutorial STEP1:begin a forge session on a stacked OLN canvas. STEP2:select all double boxes on the map one at a time, and change the settings to place at start:no respawn time:30 run time minimum:highest possible. STEP3:select whichever double box you plan to merge, and move it. any distance and location works, just make sure it has moved from its original location. STEP4:start a new round. STEP5:fly over to the double box, and watch the design on the side. when it gets noticeably darker, move all around the box looking for somewhere to grab. this is usually on one of the ends. STEP6nce you found a spot, grab the box and hold on. if done correctly there will be another box in the exact same spot as the one you have. if yours wiggles out of the second box, this guarantees success. sometimes the second box isnt there, this means theres a chance it failed. on other items, there is not a second item overlapping. STEP7:keep hold of your box and wait for about 20 seconds. STEP8:A duplicate box should fly from the spawn into your hand, and you lose control of the one you were holding.the new box has no solid edges, and no gravity or force. STEP9:move the box to the desired location. it can sink about half way into the terrain. once you have it where you want it, just let go. the box will stay where you had it. STEP10:save and quit. STEP11:repeat as much as necessary. remember that between steps 6-9 you do not push the A or B button if you do you will have to start all over.the only real limitations to this glitch are that it can only be done with OLN, and the geomerges don't go very deep. other than that this glitch is extremely useful.
It's pretty well written but could be improved in spots. This is more of a forging 101 than a 201 because it deals with glitches rather than theory. Good work though.
Im sorry to be a pain in the ass. But there is a perfectly good thread on this already... If your going to write a guide that should stand apart from that thread, include pictures, make the steps easy to read, and use the formatting tools.
Not to be a douchebag or anything, but your grammar is horrendous. My advice would be to type up the guide in Word and then spell check it and whatnot. If you're making a guide, it should be near flawless regarding grammar and spelling and include pictures of some sort. Maybe even a video. It should including basically anything to make it easy to understand.
Dude, did you even get permission from Death YoYo to write this? Its informative and all but your grammar/spelling needs a lot of improvement.
I kinda think YoYo should have been the one to post this once the glitch was figured out, but thank you. I couldn't understand it in his thread, not enough explanation there. This is a lot easier to understand.
I agree. We need to get a well written/profesional article done and the author needs to be determined by the discoverer.
sorry. I found both of the guides in the thread really hard to understand, so I wrote one that would fully explain the glitch. sorry about the bad grammar, I dont have word and I guess I did rush it abit. Ill try to clean it up and add pictures.
The best thing you can do now is get an okay from the discover, Death YoYo, before cleaning it up. You made an entirely new thread without his approval and when it comes down to it, its the discoverer should decide who writes the guide. I move for this thread to be locked.
Thats what I'm thinking... Because now we have a perfectly good tutorial on the massive thread that I started less than two days ago. Hopefully that will be moved to forging 101 so that we can all have an easier time forging random cool structures in mid-air.
And with that, this needs lock. Excellent find YoYo. But i still think a seperate guide should be written for the Forging 201 section. And you need to either write it or get somebody to write it.
Psh, i could do that before. http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=47052651
