I happen to really like Speed Painting, and have for a few years now. Suprisingly, I've never actually thought of getting a Tablet for the simple reason i can't draw but hope to improve my skill. I was wondering, if anyone here on Forgehub were good Painters, Drawers, etc. and if they used a Tablet and/or Program on the Computer if they could suggest either one.

Also, if anyone had any "Guides, Tips, or Tutorials" on"How to Draw (Insert object/person/etc. here)" that they would like to share.

    Very Appreciated. ^^

I used a Wacom Tablet for a while at school, it was pretty good, can't remember the program.

It was this one I think:

I have a Wacom Intuos4 Medium. It's beautiful. I wouldn't say I'm very good, but better then many people for my age. It came with Photoshop Element 7 and Corel Painter Sketch Pad, which is great for quick sketches. But, I already had Photoshop CS4, so I use that. Not suprisingly, there are great tutorials on youtube.

The Intuos4 Medium was around $300, so I suggest you get a cheaper one like the Bamboo, which is by the same company. It's a smaller, but still lets you draw and a lot easier to carry around. Sadly, I wish I bought a smaller size. Hope I helped. Just ask if you have any more questions.

for drawing I'd get adobe illustrator, find it in any means possible, because it helps with the errors in drawing with a tablet, for example lines not being smooth, they smooth them out a bit for ya.

I have the same setup, minus CS4, and it is fantastic. If you are looking for a nice tablet, the Intuos4 Medium is probably the best for the price, and it comes with very nice software bundled in.

It also looks oh so beautiful and slick. Oh yeah Illustrator is also helpful, it's a good combo with Photoshop.

Practice. Practice Practice Practice. Define a style you feel comfortable drawing with. Once you do, it doesn't matter what program your draw in as all of your things will look good.

I use Ms Paint, Open canvas (1.1) and Flash CS4, depending on how seriously I'm taking my art at that specific point in time. My tablet is just some 6 year old wacom something or other.

Also save all your art as a .psd if you're going to keep working on it and always save it as a .png to post.
