Hello and thank you for chosing this thread. This gametype can be our official Halo 3 Race gametype for ForgeHub.com. Here are a few settings: ~ There is only one destination. ~ You get one point per lap that you lead. ~ The winner must win twenty laps. ~ Players can't die. No matter what. ~ There are no grenades to start out with or on the map. ~ Players must be on separate teams, meaning different colors. One player per color. Below is a link where you can download this HALORACERS gametype and test it out with other Halo 3 Racing Maps. Tell me what you think about it, I made it myself. All feedback accepted. HALORACERS Found Here! http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=19274829
I think we should let everyone make their own. You never know when someone hits the jackpot. Just an idea...
Standard Racing Gametype. Found! I see what your saying because that would give us more oppurtunities with finding the perfect one. But then again, if ForgeHub had one standard one, it would be much easier on the website and for the people. I choose mine because it is evenly fair and the races arn't too long. Later.
Umm you can kill each other. there is no way to stop assassinations unless I have missed something. Also only getting one point for each lap you lead isn't good because that isn't real racing. IN real racing the only lap that really counts is the last one.
If you get one lap you get a point, you need 20 points. It would be impossible to make it like real racing. But come on, it's a video game. And yes you did miss something. If you put player settings to "Damage Resistance 0%" it will be impossible for the player to die.
What about assassinations. I believe you can always assassinate if you are on different teams. I am going to try it.
You can always assassinate people no matter what. I just give immunity (and sometimes invisibility) to the player when they spawn and it usually solves the problem (though I am not altogether sure that makes assassinations impossible). Anyways, most people use the RACETRACKS game varient when making racetracks unless they have custom rules. I just edited the RACETRACKS varient to lower laps (no one wants to race to 50 on a long map).
I started out with the RACETRACKS varient, but I made some many changes I made my own. So it's 20 laps. 50's too long.
