Forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong section, it seemed like an appropriate place to post. I am curious as to how people colour code the boxes on maps such as Avalanche as it dramatically improves the aesthetics of maps. Is it a difficult process?
Its only tedious if you merging the boxes or they have to be in a specific position. On the Avalanche map I'm working on there is a large wall, its mostly green except for the odd red box at one end and blue box at the other. I just made the wall the restarted the game and selected each box I wanted to be a different colour. If you've been geomerging it can be hard, knowing that if the box is the wrong colour you'll have to brace it very well or just geomerge it again.
Well the problem is that the boxes seem to change colour each game. Are you saying that if I am trying to geomerge a colour coded box that I need to save and quit one I have placed the correct coloured box in the correct position?
Okay, let's start from scratch. 1) Place box 2) while still holding it, save & quit 3) start it up again 4) move box to desired place (?) 5) repeat steps 1-4
Well, it doesn't always work out the first time. But if you just get the box in place then you can brace it and if colour isn't right just tap Grab and save/quit. Also I'm glad someone brought this back up, because once Longshore comes out, more people are ging to be asking.
Devinish wrote a tutorial on changing the color boxes on avalanche last year. It really helped me when I started a squad battle map on avalanche. This may be of some use. Here you go (click)
