Whenever I make a game with classes, or something, I have to resort to putting a billion of the same eapon in a pile. Not only does it look like crap, but it wastes valuable budget and object limit. I know you can make fusion coils, powerups, grenades, and equipment respawn instantly, but is there a way to do that with weapons?
You do the same thing you would to the weapon as you would to the fusion coils etc. You can do this to all items in forge.
. . . I think he figured that but he wants it instant as in as soon as its picked up...You can try doing it with drop spawning. mite work
Why then, when say you have a sniper on instant respawn, you will continuously pick up ammo for the sniper after you pick it up until you hit the ammo max?
No it doesnt. You could use two of the same item and have it as respawn 10 seconds on start yes for both then set the min to 1 Try that, may work, or not, trial and error my friend.
ok heres what i do: -put a weapon holder down -put said weapon into weap holder re-spawn 10 -repeat about 8 time to be safe (less if you will come across this weapon more often- but may not appear so much) -set min to however many is at the start That way it looks like it is always there, and it looks good and they all spawn the same direction so it really does look like its just the one- hope that helps
for clarification, by "class" do you mean have people spawn near a certain set of equipment for them to pick up? Second on how the whole minimum item count works for weapons, as a player is holding the item it counts toward the limit placed, ex. by default it is impossible to place all 16 assult riffles, as the absolute max is 16 AND YOU SPAWN WITH ONE so the game refuses to let you add your "17th" AR. As for any solutions to this I am looking into this, we at the left 4 dead remake form have tried various ways to do what you have mentioned, but the easiest still remains the pile of weapons, it may no look nice but it works.
Remember to put the run time-maximum up, that means it will spawn as soon as the respawn timer times out unless the amount of them on the map (during gameplay, not placed) is the same as the maximum.
I think you mean Run Time Minimum. I know why there is confusion on this thread. In order to set an object to instant respawn, set the Run Time Minimum to as high as it will go. Basically the same number that you have on the map. This will not make it spawn the second you pick it up however. For example you can do a test in forge to prove this. Place down a weapon holder. Next place one trip mine in that weapon holder. Next place the trip mine to instant respawn. Simply change the Run Time Minimum to 1. Next pick up the trip mine in player mode. You will notice that the trip mine will disappear. It will not come back until you throw the trip mine down. In other words you do have to use the item in some way or another for it to come back.
Yeah you will need a pile of weapons, run max to the highest (that you/your budget want) as well as the minimum to how ever many you have placed. To neaten it up use a weapon holder,or to make them look like there stuck to a wall/ on the floor but all in one place, put the weapon holder on one side of the wall/floor and if the object in-between isnt too thick they will all stay in the right spot.
