Map Name: Okunote Sanctum Download link: HERE Recommended Variants: Any one sided variant, KOTH, Slayer (note: does NOT support symmetrical objective games) Setting: Secret ninja shrine. Okunote is literally secret, so secret shrine, or temple. It was once kept as a historical monument but after raging wars going on past the covenant invasion and flood infection, Japanese monks restored its hidden passages to get the upper hand on attacking soldiers. This Sanctum is one of the last remaining buildings in the area. Some of the others are a small hut that was inhabited by a shaman, a watch tower over what used to be a city; the attacking soldiers use the raman shop as a base to regroup after attacks on the sanctum, and the last building is a small weapons supply house that is filled with explosives, it won’t be standing for long. Description: There are 7 structures on the map. The main sanctum, largest building, the shaman hut, small building by the waterfall, the lookout tower, tall building with invisibility on the top, the raman shop, building with the A and B signs, the gravediggers hut, small double box big room, the cave, large choppy looking building next to the calm river, and the gunpowder room, just look for the explosion. The Main Sanctum: 3 floors -crawlspace -downstairs -flag room/upstairs Spawns: -needler (basement) -flare (basement) -plasma pistol (downstairs) -deployable cover (below ramp) -shotgun/turret (upstairs) Upstairs area and flag spawn Playing with my new toys in the basements The Cave, Grave, and Gravediggers Hut: -all on the attackers side -tunnel to under the base (cave) -Jump to the top of the base (top of cave) Spawns: -Battle rifle (inside top, left side) -radar jammer (inside top, right side) -duel pistols (inside, right side) -sword (over the cave) -ghost (over grave) -spike grenade (gravediggers hut) -sniper (gravediggers hut, over bed) Outside area around the 3 buildings. Also jumping routine to get to the ghost DEATH FROM ABOVE! and sword spawn MY CAVE!!! (what’s the door for… hmmm) Battle in the gravedigger’s bed, sniper behind the camera Gunpowder room: -fusion coils=boom -don’t look here for cover -blow it up for cover Spawns: -brute shot Not my best idea for a place to hide… Lookout Tower: -leads to ninja routs -destroyable cover Spawns: -frag grenade (shaman hut side) -duel smgs (ground by raman shop) -brute shot (top, by destroyable cover) -invisibility (the top, are you blind?) Destroyable cover…being destroyed Brute shot spawns where the hammer is in the picture Shaman’s Hut: -crawlspace out the bottom -hammer jump out the top Spawns: plasma grenade (by door) energy drain (on cauldron) hammer (on upper floor) soccer ball!?! (hallway, use it to get hammer) spartan laser (behind the fence, you wanted it didn’t you?) Front of shaman hut and an advanced jump to get on top of the Sanctum Wait, how did that happen?!?!? Raman Shop: -attackers base -ninja exits Spawns: -regenerator (in bowl) -firebomb (on stove, RARE) Mmmmm, good food JUMPS: I won’t spoil all your fun of finding them, so here are a few: Waterfall: Jump off that tiny ledge to get into a room. It has a tunnel to the top floor Spawns: -brute shot -plasma grenade These may be nice but, don’t miss: The fast river: I swear to you, there is a way out! At least you get a custom powerup! Mountain Side: Jump from the top of the cave onto the pallet, to the top of the base -don’t worry, the water below IS safe Ninja Ledge: Get on it from a variety of places -top of the base -ghost spawn -top of raman shop -top of lookout tower And this is what happens to those that don’t ninja: This map was made to be very aesthetic, and I hope it is. G043r helped me make the raman shop and river, but I did the rest on my own. I like how you designed the map to use all of the otherwise "useless" features such as the tiny ledge at the top of the warehouse and the lip that juts out surrounding the bottom of the warehouse. I have not played it yet, but it seems like there are a lot of power weapons and grenades. Frag, Plasma and Spike grenades may be a bit excessive, but like I said I have not played it yet... --dc
Don't worry, every time I have played none of the power weapons ever really conflict, btw no one else has ever gotten the laser, it takes 1:00 or more to get... The hammer is almost never taken, it is in an odd place. There are only 3 grenades placed on the map, people don't really have too many since you don't just "walk" over them, they aren't in your path. It works best for 1 sided objective games, well that and KOTH, all the hills are in ninja places, see it as training for the 1 sided objective games. Also make sure you set hill time to 1:00, 30 seconds is too short
That is a great job Coyote ... As For power weapons A dumb cat I Helped coyote place and make that Ramen Shop Its about height instead of grenades ... I feel there wasn't enough grenades on the map... Glad to see you FINIAL posted the map Coyote...lol Coyote you should bring more attention to the art on the map... I know they are there... I helped with them...

Does anyone have any comments for me after playing it? and iverson, jumping is about the only thing in halo that I am better at than most people at forgehub, so you know, I felt us jumping ninjas needed a map.
I think the post was great, also its very...ingenuitive in its game play and style, I think that it falls mildly short of its true potential, but if you made a map similar it could be astounding. I would add more ninja parts, and make it more of a centralized building and less of a town-- although I do understand that you intended to make a town, and it did work out well, I believe the uses and types of jumps in a more centralized location would be better. Also I would make more places that you can only get by ninja-jumping. All in all a very nice map, you earn a hardy 7/10--"Great Map".

This is a fairly impressive map. This map, I dunno why, just seems very very odd. For me though, I love odd. Odd is different and I don't see odd maps ever, so I never get much difference or originality. But wow this map is most certainly different. It has that originality that I'm always looking for on these maps at forgehub. I hate to say this, but most of the maps at forgehub are missing originality, but you did a great job with this. I've never seen a map quite like this and the map even plays well and feels fun. Keep up the good work and good luck with all your future forging.
Thank you True Blue. It may seem like there are too many "power weapons" but every game that I have played on this no one has complained about them. I think it is because where I placed them stopped camping, or requires a jump to get to. It takes 1:00 to get the ghost, once you get it everyone kills you, every game the person with the ghost got pwned. Th hammer is in an awkward spot that you have to jump to get to. The sword is in the air and you have to jump off of the top of the cave into the wide open area, this is basically a deathtrap. The sniper is in the gravediggers hut so you have a bad sniping angle where you are and you have to venture across the map to get somewhere safe. The only "power weapon" that isn't at a weird place is the shotgun, which gives the defense an advantage. To add: Ghost doesn't spawn at start and have a 1:00 respawn time Sword doesn't spawn at start and has a, I think, 45 sec spawn time Firebomb spawns only once like every 2 minutes, it is a rare object...

This is a great map. I love all the ninja jumps to get around the map. Also Im the ninja in the pic of the elite jumping to the pallet. This map is a lot of fun on CTF but thats all I've played so there might be a better gametype.
this is a reel cool map cus you were working on it for many many years. i mean weeks. besides, it tests your skills at being like a ninjaaa!
