Is it an easy fix? I don't plan to fix it myself, but the warranty of my laptop states that they may replace or refund the product if they cannot repair it. I need my data on my laptop, it is irreplacable.

So I need to know if they will repair it (which they will do if it is an easy fix) or replace/refund it (if it is a difficult fix)?

The broken jacks are the mic jack input and the second headphone jack input. They are on the front of my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, which only has 26 days of warranty remaining.

Buy yourself a 1TB Hard drive, and shove all your data on there. Then send off the Laptop to be repaired. Let them replace it ;)

Good idea, but I won't need one that big. It only has a 220GB Hard Drive.

I've used up 130GB and at least 80 of those 130 GigaBytes are irreplacable.

But do you think they'd replace it?

If you have your warranty yes. I have a DELL XPS M1530. They are sending out a technician to my job to come and replace the motherboard and speakers of my laptop. If the inputs are broken(like the usb, hdmi, etc) they should come and replace the motherboard, because after all that's were all of the externals hook into. I'd tell them they inputs are not working. If they are physically broken, then I would just tell them the inputs don't work. I would not say they are physically broken. If they just don't work tell them and they should replace the motherboard depending on what type of service you have for the computer. Dell is obligated to fix any problems with my my laptop for three years. So far it has been well worth it, because they replaced my ac adapter twice, new motherboard, new speakers, and a new internal camera.

I got a new AC adapter once, but that's the only thing that's gone wrong.

However, these are the only two parts that I know are broken. Some of the others I have never used, so they may be bust too (e.g. the VGA and HDMI outputs).

If possible, I would tell them the ports that are broken are not work. Additionally I would tell them the HDMI and the VGA ports are not working. Dell just replaced my motherboard, because the AC adapter was not being recognized by the system. You can try saying that, but you're going to have a to lie a bit.
