I was going to try and make a background version of the second one, but I couldn't find a large enough background stock for it to work. I may look again later, because I'd like to see how it turns out. Also, any advice for the first one? I realize it's not the greatest, but I'm not sure what to change.
Well, I think that the first one is just a bit odd because of the way the colors are coming from around/behind the guy... It might be better, if you want that color coming from there, to try and find a nice Aurora Borealis stock and set it to lighten or screen and have that coming from behind/around the guy instead. Also, possibly adding a nebula stock to give it some starry effects might be nice as well. I could also see this working just by removing the colors all together and colorizing the center guy's shirt.
