Green House It was once a place filled with life, now there is only death... Green House is a spiritual predecessor to my map I released a while back in march called Holy Grounds. I actually made this map around may, but never got around to uploading it. This map consists of 2 bases and in the middle a large concealed area with many enterances. It's a great map for Capture the Flag and also a lot of fun with king of the hill. Nice looks like it could could be a blast to play. I like the sections on the roof especialy(Not sure if thats spelt right) And the gameplay looks solid. Is it me or is this map a bit like blackout in design? :/ Anyways love the green floor and asthetics BTW lol at the blueprint. I will download . Really good layout and clean forging here Skarrow, looks good and if I get the chance I'll have a forge around. I would have preferred "The Green Room" for the name but thats just nit-picking. Great job here, its a shame it doesn't seem to be gathering that much attention.
Looks like a good map. The greenhouse itself is what caught my attention. Looks like an all around nice map that could work with many gametypes (I'm not sure what it's set up for though.) Also I really like how you included your sketches. That really shows you put some thought into the map, I'll DL, check it out, and get back to you. Update- Very nice. That fact that you really planned this out shows in the map. The layout is great. Weapons, spawns, and forging are also impressive. Good Job.
Yea to be honest I'm a bit frusterated with how it only has 3 replys. The stones rule though! The map can play with oddball, king of the hill, slayer and Capture the Flag. I tried fitting in assault but the damn item limit didn't let me ):<
Definatley looks fun, for some reason the second and third pic remind me of cold storage, I have no idea why, from the pics I like the layout and the variations in height. It looks alot of fun for KOTH and I can never get enough of the tin cups. I should be back after a couple games on it, add me if you play customs alot.
Honestly dude I took a look at this last night and played it with Adelyss, and I love the layout. I can see it playing a great object doubles, as well as slayer doubles, FFA and 1v1. It's a great, small symmetrical and competitive skybox map which I haven't seen in a while. There are a few issues I'd like to see fixed though. Mainly the upper area. It's quite controlling, the only real way the assault these areas takes you first through the middle of the map, which these controlling areas overlook. The second major problem is the shotgun, which is far controlling and and has a too large clip size. I think the weapon diversity is mostly good, yet needs another power weapon. I notice your at the item limit, though I have made some changes and played them out. First change I would recommend is a sort of balcony that overlooks the green room, and connects the two higher control points. Also around behind them, the railings that wall off the back of the map, remove those, place a double box to allow a path around the back behind the control points, and rail that off. I tried out a sniper on the balcony I created, moved the regen to the new path around behind the control points, and lowered the clip size in the shotty. I showed Shad0w viper the map and he proposed this idea. Along the low side of the map there should be a second high point, but slightly lower. You would remove part of the back wall, and it would be about a box high, and mostly enclosed with a few windows to see across to the high balcony. This would provide another safe route across the map. The forging in some areas needs to be fixed as well. There are some holes you can lose grenades, or areas where multiple items are used where they could be swapped out. All in all dude, you have a design that with a lot of promise, and with a little work it could definitely be featurable. i liek dis map. It really looks like you put time into this map.. I can tell cuz the forging is near perfect and you actually cared to put in aesthetics. The grass is always appreciated, as it shows skill and it looks really purrty [if not a bit too overused]. I can't really say too much about the map [I just dl'd it], but this map looks very much like feature-esque material, dawg. Liek majurrr props mannn.
Woah thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it. About what you were saying for an upper balcony for the green room, I Don't think that would be a very good idea because the aim of the map was if you wanted to get to the other side you would have to go through the green room. In V1.1 the upper level was open for both teams to pass through, and what would happen is that people would just camp up top and eventually no one would ever go in the green room and instead everyone would rush the top which was the most powerful part of the map. It's a good idea to lower the shotgun clips though, but I think the map would be too small for another power weapon. In the 1st version I tried a rocket launcher placed on the upper level, that wasn't such a good idea. Sniper doesn't work very well either. The map is just too small. I did infact think about the lower balcony that you considered. Not only would that balance out the map better from the upper level to lower, but then maybe it could be big enough for another power weapon perhaps. Thanks for your imput, if I change anything I'll update the map.
this map looks slightly unbalanced with only one power weapon. however, it uses great forging and athsteics andlooks fun to play
