Side Streets Story: The streets in suburban MetrAngeles are vacant of all cops. The cops, and all law for that matter, have given up on this area. This area, known by the cops as Death Alley, and by the locals as "Side Streets" is an area full of constant bloody gang violence. The gangs have a variety of ways to battle over these grounds, sometimes battling for territory, sometimes trying to steal the enemy's flag, and sometimes just plain ol' killing. The ultimate test of gang superiority. Motto: "Close Quarters = Busy Coroners." General: So the traditional battle method of finger snapping and ballet dancing just isn't working for you any more, but you don't have the numbers for a big game of red rover. If you can relate to this then you have come to the right place. Side Streets is a enclosed close range map, that promotes team work, and punishes it. Map Gametypes: This map is set up for all game types. Due to its size and such I have several recommendations. 4-12 Players Multi Flag CTF - Flag carrier speed 50% and 10-20 flag captures decrease reset time. Assault - 50% speed more vulnerable carrying bomb (I prefer 25% speed and bomb never resets) Territories - Don't have the territories lock Juggernaut - I'm not a big fan, but mad dash (reach the points) is fun. Slayer - Standard or swat, swat actually is pretty crazy. King of the Hill - I prefer slower shield regeneration and high shield vampiricism. Infection - Don't play it on this map. Oddball - Standard gametypes are fine. Layout: A rough picture I drew up to show the layout of the map, weapon placement etc. *certain parts not to scale Weapons: BR x4 Shotgun x2 Power Drain x2 Regenerator x2 Sniper x4 Plasma Grenade x4 Plasma Pistol x2 Machine Gun Turret x2 Flare x1 Pictures: One of the symmetrical Bases. Sniper Spawn, looking down one of the "Side Streets" The center of the map, where turrets look and flare spawns. Battle Pictures: "All your flag are belong to us" "Denied" Strategy: Initially, there are two options: 1. A blood rush up the middle 2. Sneak up the sides. The middle provides quicker more direct access to the enemy base, while the sides provide a more discreet way. The sides have either a defensive or an offensive equipment and a sniper. Usually, at the end of the hallway will be another enemy, so snipe or be sniped. The turret in the middle is more useful than you may think if the gravity is increased on the flag carrier, because that will force him to walk around the barrier, however, usually the turrets will just be broken off and took elsewhere. The flare in the middle will usually be a good initial distraction letting you close in on stragglers in the base. Work in groups but watch out for grenades and power drains. A group can easily cover each other's backs shut down enemy flaggers and steal the flag. Couple o' Quotes: Pigg334 - "Its like the new Guardian." Joker3693 - "Play it again, I had too much fun, I didn't know whether to defend my flag or steal the enemy's." Feer Teh Kweer - "All your flag are belong to us." Feer Teh Kweer - "Its like you knew exactly what kind of map I wanted to play." I Dale Gribble - "The middle of this map is oddly ****** shaped." Map: Map FAQ: "PMFG PHAIL 4 SNIPERS?" Yeah there are 4 snipers, but they have no extra clips, and usually one sides ammo will consolidate into one gun and the other sides into another, then those two will consolidate together. It was just to have it balanced.
I made a map that was also a street, Back-Alley. But mine is slayer. Yourrs looks pretty cool though. good job
This was one of the first gametypes i played on the map, it wasn't your standard game of swat but was still very fun.
