My goal with Halo 5's forge is to turn underrated classic maps from past Halo's, and revive them while giving a fresh new feel when playing them, so when I saw the halo 5 forge vidoc and saw what kind of options we could do with fog, only one male popped into my mind. That was was one of my favorite halo maps, Backwash.
At first I didn't think it was going to work. The sun on alpine, no matter what skybox I chose, it was always beaming through the fog, so to improvise, I surrounded the whole map with cliff sides, and biggest floor pieces as the ceiling to block out the sun. Needless to say, it worked.
I had my friends Xbox playing MCC with Halo 2's backwash on it, while I was forging on my own Xbox with halo 5. I really tried to get this map as close to the original as I could, while still maintaining the thought that this map needs to be playable with Halo 5's game mechanics (i.e. Spartan Abilities)
After a long stretch and plenty of headache's, I have come to you with this! This map has been tested with Slayer, CTF, FFA, and Breakout. All 4 modes work perfectly within this map.
The player counts we have used were: 2v2, 4v4, 5v5 and 6v6. All player counts work fine within the map, though it is recommended that you play with atleast 3 to 4 players on each team.
Based on feedback I will update this map as thoroughly as I can, so please, ANY criticism is welcomed!
Shout out to anyone who helped play test this map! You guys rock!
Super shoutout to my friend, "D3LTA V" because if it weren't for him and his ability to save me object space, I wouldn't have even been able to finish 3 quarters of this map!
I'm working on another classic map now so stay tuned for what I have next! Enjoy the map Everyone!!!
