Variable Weather

Map Description

  1. NOKYARD
    Script programed by Yumudas Beegbut.

Random Screen FX switching. In other words, Naturally appearing weather patterns.

Fully compatible with our Weather or Not Prefab.

This prefab allows you to place up to 4 different Weather FX on your map, and alternate between the 4 randomly, on a random timer. You accomplish this by setting a different FX within each of the 4 scripts on the Green Script Brain (do not alter the Red Script Brain).

    Examples:
For a 'light snowy' map set:
Script 1 FX = Snow [light]
Script 2 FX = Snow [medium]
Script 3 FX = Snow [light]
    Script 4 FX = <none>

Similarly, on Avalanche Classic i set:
Script 1 FX = Snow [light]
Script 2 FX = Snow [medium]
Script 3 FX = Snow [heavy]
    Script 4 FX =<none>

To make a 'heavy rain' map appear more natural set:
Script 1 FX = Rain [heavy]
Script 2 FX = Rain [medium]
Script 3 FX = Rain [heavy]
Script 4 FX = Rain [light]

To lower the occurrence of Bubbles on an underwater map you can set:
    Script 1 FX = Bubbles
    Script 2 FX = <none>
    Script 3 FX = <none>
    Script 4 FX = <none>

This is really neat. How are the transitions between the stages? Are they somewhat smooth or very abrupt?

They are abrupt if you are standing still and you go from Light to Heavy (Rain or Snow), but in the heat of battle while searching for enemies or pushing the flag you will hardly notice the change.

Check out the WiP of Longshore. It uses 3 rain settings + <none>, as well as exclusion zones in the bases, and an inclusion zone with Snow in the freezer.
