An exact remake of Blood Gulch would be unplayable on Halo 5. The sightlines would be huge and the map much to large. Thrombus is a smaller, denser map that sticks with the general theme: a large terrain based map, with a base for each team at opposite ends and relatively flat ground between. Thrombus, meaning a blood clot in an artery, features a large round structure that blocks sightlines and pathways, effectively acting like a thrombus. The structure has two levels and can be entered 8 different ways. The top level features 4 destructible gates that can be passed by the color of the team the correspond with. The lower level has a sizable fighting area and the road runs right through it, which leads to intense battles that can be interrupted by warthogs, ghosts, or gungooses.
