TimeoutIt has been a LONG time since I've posted a map. Years even? Back when I started forging regularly, I always wanted to create a unique symmetrical map inspired by Countdown. I wanted to tackle the issues Countdown faced, (such as feeling too segmented in some places), while creating an obvious nod to the inspiration. After many failed attempts, I finally wiped the canvas clean for the Fiesta contest and hammered out Timeout, my homage to an under appreciated classic!

ThemingSince this is my final nod to Halo 5, I figured I'd theme the map after something oddly nostalgic that I will always relate to Forgehub. When I began my tenure with Forgehub Staff in 2017, I was employed full time at Disneyland, CA. More specifically, I worked the Indiana Jones ride, and therefore spent a LOT of time in that temple. Timeout is themed after that same mysterious South American ruin, with a classic Halo twist.
GameplayTimeout is a symmetrical 4v4 map that can supportable 4v4 core game-types in Halo 5. CtF is a blast, personally, and is my favorite game mode to play here. Outside of Fiesta, the map supports a Sniper Rifle, a Shotgun, and a Sword along with some lesser precision weapons scattered throughout. In the platform above bottom mid, an Overshield spawns on a timer. Timeout has a good mix of short to long range gameplay, depending on the routes you take or how exposed you're willing to be to mid. In true Countdown fashion, there are three lifts in a lower corridor that will deliver you to varied sections of the upper map. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield, Spartans!
