INTRO:
Thief is among one of my favorite game series that I grew up with (besides Halo). From the fun replayability, to the shadows and cool environments to explore, this series really stuck with me.
When forgers alike were given textures to utilize in their creations, I knew I wanted to make something with it, but what?
Just recently it hit me, "Why not take two of the game series that I love, and combine them into one?"
With the last update we were given the awesome Tidal canvas. After seeing the "Meteor Shower" skybox theme, I knew I HAD to build my map on this canvas. I then utilized the insanely cool canvas and textures to create Thief.
Gameplay:
Even though holdouts are by no means large, they do offer adequate safety from the infected as well as fun and fast paced gameplay. Holdouts include the Initial Spawn, Sewers, Corner Courtyard, Garden, Bridge, and the Center Building. Many escape routes allow for sneaky navigation by both Humans or Infected. Also, the optimal player count is 12, however, the map can support 16 for endless zombie waves. The sounds, the scenery, as well as the lighting are all quite nostalgic for any Thief gamers out there.
Weapons:
Supressed SMG in the Sewers, Railgun in the courtyard, Sniper Rifle in the tower, SAW on the water well, Scoped AR and Splinter Grenade by the docks and Recon DMR by the bridge. Additional ammo is placed throughout the map.
*Sidenote* The intro/outro sequence also features my very own mini custom load screen!!!
All in all, recreating scenery and architecture from the game was such a great experience, I got to relive my childhood without even having to play the old PC version. If you have never played Thief, I highly recommend trying it out. I hope you guys enjoy this map as much as I do!
