-THE PLAYGROUND-a competitive slayer map by
GreyMuffinBass
"The bell for recess just went off; there's a 12 min. break 'til lunch...
to the playground!"
I worked a lot on the functional details of the structures. You have to watch your back in this one. There is always a lot of action around every corner. Everything in the playground is multi-use and there are many alternate routes to take once you get used to the layout. Each structure is totally unique with their own perks & quirks, giving this map a very competitive twist.
This is a good map for 2v2 - 4v4. I recommend a full party with FFA Slayer for the most carnage possible. (I've had some wicked matches!)
STATS:
-Alpine Canvas
-30+ Unique Structures
-24 Different Gun Types (Including Energy Sword & Gravity Hammer)
-70+ Spawn Locations
-0 Vehicles
-About 36 Hours Work
TIPS FOR GAMEPLAY:
-The main bigtoy is well secured; there are only a few ways to get up and into it, making it very easy to defend. There are some special ways to get on the roof too.
-There is a Camo Powerup under the "Toddler's Toy" (the bigtoy with the rust coloured floors) This is the only powerup on the map, so make sure you can get it.
-It is difficult to maneuver yourself up into the tire fort, but it is very good for sniping and is easy to evacuate. (There are 2 special ways to get up as well)
-The Sandbox has well-placed hills for keeping out of view. Use the buckets as extra cover when dodging shots.
-Everything you can see is accessible in some way. Try to find the "secret paths" to these locations.
-You can duck or slide under the picnic table to use it as fortification, jump on top for a further view, or use it as a stepping stone when jumping from structure to structure.
-Remember to use your spartan abilities! Ground Pound is especially effective in this map because there are many alleyways/lanes under tall structures, etc.
-You may run along the edge of the outer fence, but don't cross it.
-There are weapons in every structure; try to memorize their placement.
