Map Description

  1. T Nate
This is a outdoor western themed version of HCE Hang'em High with some structural and weapon modification to improve the pace of play and break up some of the longer sight lines.

Thanks to ANEVILSPAR7AN for use of "Unforgiven" to determine rough scale estimates for this map.

You should set the Visibility to On so people will be able to download it. It's not showing in your file share.

This is pretty cool, however, I have one complaint. Unless the sniper perch is just a coincidence, please ask permission from the original author to use their assets in your own maps.

I'd love to download it, but you don't have the visibility set to on.

HA ANEVILSPAR7AN. So remember how I said I would give you credit for the perch and the scale in the description. That is a bit more difficult than I thought. Apparently Microsoft considers your Xbox Live username offensive. upload_2017-3-20_10-0-28.png

They find me offensive, huh? Well they're not the first. Keep up the good work dude, your forging is nice and clean, hope to see more out of you.

Great map all together, in my opinion i think one change will make the map look a little smoother; It appears to me that the map is a little western? If not than my apologies, but i recommend that you change the color of the silver objects on the map, they stick out and don't go along with the western theme that much. Think this will make the map look better and more "together" if that makes sense. Anyways, thanks for reading my feedback, great map overall! Very creative!

I assume you are referring to the central sniper perch in the level? I was of two minds about how to handle that. Either make it thematically blend in with the rest of the map (I had considered trying to turn it into a water wheel) or have it stand out as an obvious call out to the original Hang 'em High. I had also considered splitting the difference and just roughing it up a little bit and making it the same color as the walkway supports.

The cover at Blue base was already removed after taking the screen shots and before I posted the map.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate any and all constructive advice that can help make my map better.

I know I should probably start a thread in the forum for this question, but one of my inspirations for this map was a game type that my friends and I used to play all the time in past Halo games (but I can't figure out how to recreate in Halo 5).

It was called Wild West and was a super fast paced magnums game (similar to Swatnums) where the scoring was setup so you got a point for every kill, but you lost a point every time you died (regardless of whether is was a suicide or you were killed by another player). This led to crazy some point swings based on sprees and epic come backs as players start to gang up on the current leader.

But in Halo 5 I have not been able to find a way to take away points for dying (other than suicides). Suggestions?

This map is a brilliant example of taking an old design and creating an entirely new theme around it. Fantastic all around.

    Is the game-mode you're thinking of Tug-of-War?

@eLantern Tug-of-War is close to what I was thinking of, but the game type I was trying to recreate was a FFA version with magnums and no shields.

I had started a forum thread about it here
