Strain is a competitive map built for 4v4 games. I am attempting to get this in HCS so I stayed with a symmetric design to keep equal ground for both teams. I know everyone likes an asym and I do prefer them more as well but I didnt want to risk it. The map started in Halo 4 as my final attempt to get into MM which is something I have wanted desperatlyfor a long time. I have had more features here on FH than I can remember so thats sort of my bucket list leftover. It has undergone several changes in layout & weapons & I have worked hard both in Halo 4 & in H2A to get it where it is now & hopefully you can enjoy it as much as I hated it while forging, lol.
Weapons include a 1 spare clip Rocket Launcher on a 180 sec. static spawn, 1 spare clip Sniper on 120 sec. static spawn and a Camo on a 90 sec. static spawn. A pair of needlers spawn Top Gold & there are 2 Carbines, 2 BRs, 2 stickies on each side plus 2 frags at top green.
Power points are the platform between top gold & top mid and then the 2 carbine bridges offer a view of their respected bases plus the green side. My favorite is the two towers between the flanks & green side. Top Green is has a view to both bases so I left it pretty open to control the power of its position as well as the breakable barriers on the carbine bridges to offer an obstructed view to the bases from top green.
Nuetral Flag & Bomb spawn between Rockets & the ramp leading up to top mid (Purple) and the team flags spawn inside the base in front of the barred windows. Balls spawn at Bottom Mid (Camo), Top Gold (Needlers), and Top Green (Frags). Hills (in order) are at Nuetral bomb & Flag spawn, Red Base, Blue Base, and then the platform between Top Gold & Top Mid.
All in all I like the flow & Gameplay of the map but I have been struggling with the spawns which I hope to have fixed now. I really want this to make HCS though I have no natural terrain & my the map pretty much does look like a forge map but hopefully they will ease up on the criteria soon & go off gameplay. I know most prefer asym for hill but it i think symmetrical maps are more what competetive players want in Flag & Bomb and maybe even in Slayer.
