Just out of curiosity, what about Halo isn't working for you? What type of map are you thinking of doing with it. I'm thinking about possibly doing some co-forging with someone who is good with "New Mombasa/Alexandria" theme/style maps.

 

The fact that you had to ask makes it even more worth the trouble for figuring out how to do it. It's the Eden map. There is actually much more forgeable area on this, but it can be tricky to locate and if you get away from the canvas I laid down, you'll have a "floating skyscraper" in view. Never the less, to my surprise, there is enough space all together to make large BTB maps if you wanted. This is probably going to be my most favorite place to forge maps and I can't wait to see what the good forgers out there are gonna do with it. I've always wished we had a night time forge canvas to work with, and although Glacier does, that still limits to snow maps. This one is gonna be almost perfect for those who want an urban/city themed map at a night time skyline setting without having to do it completely indoors or with any weird effects or filters. The the skybox is gorgeous and it's inspired me to try and do some "New Alexandria/Noctus" style maps kinda like "Boardwalk" and "Beachhead" on Reach.

What mind of map and why do you think it might not support it?

 

And this is because of budget or because of forgeable space available?

 

I actually like the lighting a lot. It's dark for a good night time theme, but the blocks don't look too dark that it makes the details and paths washout in the dark parts. The fog option is there but it didn't seem to work, but I'm actually ok with that because I would personally never use it on this map, as I wouldn't necessarily want anything obstructing the view of the skybox. The filters do work however and I've found several of them that can make up for not being able to generate map lighting. Forge lighting still works though and you can always brighten up your map that way if needed. I would rather have it dark and the option to lighten because there really isn't a way to darken outdoor parts of your maps. It does seem like when you look up towards the moon and then back down the lighting auto adjusts slightly, but it's subtle and I don't find it to be problematic. I'm currently working on a "BOARDWALK" remix style map on it and so far I'm very happy with the looks of this canvas. As I said, this is probably gonna be one of my favorite places to forge.
